That set looks just like the one WJXT used back then, same designer?

I'm more familiar with him as the voice of Showtime in the early 80s:

Bob Costas' Later is over and now it's time for dual ABC-NBC affiliate KTEN to end its day: I know it was camcorder recorded, but still a rare treat!

Okay doc, what news should I watch?
-
I mentioned that in the chat box earlier. They also did a newer intro and eliminated the opening voice over (whose voice was in many TV promos in the 80s & 90s). BTW, is it wrong to admit that I've been watching the CBS Evening News almost every night since Jeff came in?
-
And of course afterwards he was introducing the movies at the 'old' AMC (pre Mad Men and Walking Dead):

Here's something so rare it needs no explanation:

Oh yeah, I forgot that the late great kwvtads (why hasn't he tried a comeback?) uploaded an intro from this peroid way back when.

Easy one. It's VTS Productions' "Looking Out For You", as used by KFDA & KSWO in the late 80's/early 90s. The closing piece is an instrumental from their image campaign, as used by CFTO in 1984: -
It was. Originally aired in April of 1983, many stations aired it at various times of the years.

Some WRAZ footage from when they were just one month old: And the first Balls & Walls open from KHQ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=SQN7JOoLhyk;m=29;s=4

Here's the Seven Network's Newsworld just before Clive Robertson came in (we need more of him on YT, I think of him as the Aussie equivilent of Tom Snyder)

It's only the last few seconds, but we finally have an idea of what the lost Reaching Out To You image campaign sounded like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=TpXJqVPzNWA;m=16;s=29

The only station I could find carrying it was a local Minnenapolis cable access station called "Metro Cable Network". So it was apparently a local show.

Does anyone know what this "Tellstar News" was? It looks like the later years of CBS Nightwatch but on a lower budget:

It's in B&W (it came from the Vandy archives), but nonetheless, here is a great edition of NBC Nightly News from February 22, 1979, which features a young Chris Wallace (with a moustache!) on the HOR begining televised sessions, and a final story on the election of future MST3K producer Jim Mallon to the Uniersity of Wisconsin student government!

Who cares? I've seen tons of old late news opens that use daytime shots.
