  1. Robin Swoboda is returning to Cleveland television and WKYC. She doing to do a YouTube series for them called "Going Rogue," and will interview celebrities and newsmakers. She made the announcement on their morning show earlier today.
  2. WKYC had Duji from the "Rover's Morning Glory" morning show on WMMS-FM fill-in at the anchor desk this morning, and she even gave a weather report as well. https://www.wkyc.com/article/entertainment/television/programs/wkyc-morning-show/duji-of-rovers-morning-glory-joins-wkyc-as-guest-co-host-watch-what-happened/95-84b9b1ac-a6ae-4892-9b2c-ab92fd0f933f?fbclid=IwAR3QINhbqsuFQAWy4C9Zx6Zif2IUnxX183peU18WvciML_Y7oULYiVc7EZI Tomorrow is going to be Robin Swoboda filling in again.
  3. The WLWT weeknight anchors are now engaged to each other. They have been dating for a while. Congratulations to them.
  4. A lot of people in Cleveland are upset about WJW not being on Spectrum. A bowling alley on the east side has resorted to putting Spectrum News 1 Ohio on one of the big screens. Of the preferred local alternatives, many viewers seem to trust WEWS the most. Anyway, WJW is still off even though it's now Saturday, and sports programming is on Fox now. Some believe that it will all be resolved in two weeks. Still, it's bad for Spectrum. That's going to cause more people to leave cable for alternatives (streaming, over-the-air).
  5. All of the Tribune stations are off Spectrum systems in 24 markets. https://deadline.com/2019/01/tribune-stations-go-dark-on-charter-spectrum-systems-in-24-markets-1202528240/
  6. Mark Nolan just tweeted that tonight's 6pm newscast will be his last on WOIO. I believe his co-anchor Romona Robinson has already left the station. Carl Monday has also posted a farewell video on social media as well. He was at Cleveland 19 since 2007.
  7. Add Tribune vs. Spectrum to the mix. https://deadline.com/2018/12/tribune-stations-advise-charter-spectrum-viewers-about-new-years-eve-carriage-deadline-1202526468/
  8. WJW has posted a site for viewers who have Spectrum cable that they might lose the station on New Year's Day.
  9. Tara Molina has announced she's leaving WEWS for a station in Chicago.

    In Memoriam

Trent is going to be on mornings. Mark is likely staying put on evenings. Very sad to read about Don Webster. He is one of the legends in Cleveland television.
  11. Mark has since taken to social media to welcome back Trent, and added that they will both be part of the weather team at WEWS starting in January. Apparently, FTVLIVE got it wrong about Mark leaving. If Mark had left, wouldn't a stronger meteorologist come in to replace him?
  12. UPDATE: Mark Johnson took to social media of Trent Magill coming back to WEWS to be part of a weather team including him starting in January. People though still think online Mark's leaving. This is like a repeat of Jeff Tanchak situation at WOIO and Raycom back in 2015.
  13. Mark Johnson is rumored to be out at WEWS. Meanwhile, former meteorologist Trent Magill is returning to the station.
  14. Can you guys picture Tegna and Tribune together? Here's what I saw from Variety:
  15. Those actually are the hosts. The types I've mentioned.
  16. They alternate with each hour. That's why there's eight hosts for the show. The same main topics are covered, though some change in each feed, and they do cover breaking news, though it's hard to have singers, actors, reality hosts, and comedians cover harder topics, then give opinions. WFAA is struggling badly in the ratings according to Uncle Barky.
  17. Here's hoping WKYC's morning news, or even any of TEGNA's morning newscasts, doesn't turn into this! (That debate on TEGNA's show is a big reason I no longer tune in)
  18. The latest in what's been happening to the morning show on WKYC. Less news, more features.
  19. Here's what FTVLive thinks of WEWS not covering the breaking news story this week: https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/11/14/scripps-station-drops-the-ball-in-cleveland
  20. Carl Monday announced on his Facebook page he's leaving WOIO/WUAB after almost 12 years.
  21. WEWS mentioned during The Now Cleveland that they were going to stream a press conference for the arrests related to a different crime on its app instead of airing it on its newscast.
  22. Doesn't matter. WEWS still should have broken into coverage when the initial reports first came on.
  23. There has been an active shooter at a hospital in Medina, Ohio, and this is what was going on the four news stations in Cleveland around 2:30pm and 3pm. WKYC - local news coverage WJW - local news coverage WOIO - local news coverage WEWS - General Hospital and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!!!!! News 5 didn't bother to go into breaking news coverage, except for a ticker at the bottom on-air, and of course its website and social media. To me, that's like saying not to bother watching the station anymore. That is a prime example of dropping the ball big time.
  24. Don't forget that Jeff Hogan left WBNS in Columbus for WRAL after he got tired of waiting for Jerry Ravish to retire.
