  1. UPDATE: Mark Johnson took to social media of Trent Magill coming back to WEWS to be part of a weather team including him starting in January. People though still think online Mark's leaving. This is like a repeat of Jeff Tanchak situation at WOIO and Raycom back in 2015.
  2. Mark Johnson is rumored to be out at WEWS. Meanwhile, former meteorologist Trent Magill is returning to the station.
  3. Can you guys picture Tegna and Tribune together? Here's what I saw from Variety:
  4. Those actually are the hosts. The types I've mentioned.
  5. They alternate with each hour. That's why there's eight hosts for the show. The same main topics are covered, though some change in each feed, and they do cover breaking news, though it's hard to have singers, actors, reality hosts, and comedians cover harder topics, then give opinions. WFAA is struggling badly in the ratings according to Uncle Barky.
  6. Here's hoping WKYC's morning news, or even any of TEGNA's morning newscasts, doesn't turn into this! (That debate on TEGNA's show is a big reason I no longer tune in)
  7. The latest in what's been happening to the morning show on WKYC. Less news, more features.
  8. Here's what FTVLive thinks of WEWS not covering the breaking news story this week: https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/11/14/scripps-station-drops-the-ball-in-cleveland
  9. Carl Monday announced on his Facebook page he's leaving WOIO/WUAB after almost 12 years.
  10. Well, let's agree to disagree.
  11. WEWS mentioned during The Now Cleveland that they were going to stream a press conference for the arrests related to a different crime on its app instead of airing it on its newscast.
  12. Doesn't matter. WEWS still should have broken into coverage when the initial reports first came on.
  13. There has been an active shooter at a hospital in Medina, Ohio, and this is what was going on the four news stations in Cleveland around 2:30pm and 3pm. WKYC - local news coverage WJW - local news coverage WOIO - local news coverage WEWS - General Hospital and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!!!!! News 5 didn't bother to go into breaking news coverage, except for a ticker at the bottom on-air, and of course its website and social media. To me, that's like saying not to bother watching the station anymore. That is a prime example of dropping the ball big time.
  14. Don't forget that Jeff Hogan left WBNS in Columbus for WRAL after he got tired of waiting for Jerry Ravish to retire.

  16. Right now, the only thing NBC has of those three is good production. The fluff and gimmicks, especially in the AM, are getting out of hand, and Super Dave is Super Bland in the new role.
  17. Here's what WKYC's news direct...er, director of news content Adam Miller has to say of the station being a "mini 30 Rock," according to this article.
  18. Plus, the new news director has come from the "Today" show.
  19. Just when you thought WKYC's new look morning show couldn't get any worse, think again! Here comes chocolate syrup on cereal... LIVE during the news. https://www.wkyc.com/mobile/video/life/food/the-secret-to-better-cereal-hersheys-syrup/95-8289993
  20. Dave Chudowsky has officially been named the new weekday morning news co-anchor with Maureen Kyle on WKYC. He replaces John Anderson, who, of course, is no longer at the station. Al Pawlowski replaces Dave at the weekend sports desk.
  21. Al Pawlowski is replacing Dave Chudowsky as weekend evening sports anchor now that Dave on weekday mornings.
  22. KARK and KLRT meteorologist Kelly Dobeck is leaving for WOIO and WUAB according to her Facebook page.
  23. WKYC is =68.ARBetJkemUGcg3uyEr_DFBgYdqyYSriE9JSbmU-VKv7-dos6c90FLx0qPoHV5B3E7t6rHij4O_yJT-pUMq91_lFcPk4Mb94VGpgJ1lKSuEyc2kGHALYHUyNSfeOMMfVDVNltS9VO7w2zJPSI7ItWLK1A395HwnCKRA6OtQYxIb7wjMX52C_z7MtpnwuHvF3keVszapCD&__tn__=-R']teasing on its Facebook page a "familiar face" coming to its morning newscast on Monday. It's likely in-house, and many are speculating in the comments it could be weekend sports anchor Dave Chudowsky.
  24. Does anyone think that Scripps or TEGNA will or are at least interested in buying WBNX as part of a duoply with WEWS or WKYC?
  25. I would rather have Scripps than TEGNA right now. One of the new hard hitting questions WKYC is asking its AM viewers is whether or not beans belong on chili!
