  1. Don't forget that Jeff Hogan left WBNS in Columbus for WRAL after he got tired of waiting for Jerry Ravish to retire.
  2. There has been an active shooter at a hospital in Medina, Ohio, and this is what was going on the four news stations in Cleveland around 2:30pm and 3pm. WKYC - local news coverage WJW - local news coverage WOIO - local news coverage WEWS - General Hospital and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!!!!! News 5 didn't bother to go into breaking news coverage, except for a ticker at the bottom on-air, and of course its website and social media. To me, that's like saying not to bother watching the station anymore. That is a prime example of dropping the ball big time.
  3. Right now, the only thing NBC has of those three is good production. The fluff and gimmicks, especially in the AM, are getting out of hand, and Super Dave is Super Bland in the new role.
  4. Here's what WKYC's news direct...er, director of news content Adam Miller has to say of the station being a "mini 30 Rock," according to this article.
  5. Plus, the new news director has come from the "Today" show.
  6. Just when you thought WKYC's new look morning show couldn't get any worse, think again! Here comes chocolate syrup on cereal... LIVE during the news. https://www.wkyc.com/mobile/video/life/food/the-secret-to-better-cereal-hersheys-syrup/95-8289993
  7. Dave Chudowsky has officially been named the new weekday morning news co-anchor with Maureen Kyle on WKYC. He replaces John Anderson, who, of course, is no longer at the station. Al Pawlowski replaces Dave at the weekend sports desk.
  8. Al Pawlowski is replacing Dave Chudowsky as weekend evening sports anchor now that Dave on weekday mornings.
  9. KARK and KLRT meteorologist Kelly Dobeck is leaving for WOIO and WUAB according to her Facebook page.
  10. WKYC is =68.ARBetJkemUGcg3uyEr_DFBgYdqyYSriE9JSbmU-VKv7-dos6c90FLx0qPoHV5B3E7t6rHij4O_yJT-pUMq91_lFcPk4Mb94VGpgJ1lKSuEyc2kGHALYHUyNSfeOMMfVDVNltS9VO7w2zJPSI7ItWLK1A395HwnCKRA6OtQYxIb7wjMX52C_z7MtpnwuHvF3keVszapCD&__tn__=-R']teasing on its Facebook page a "familiar face" coming to its morning newscast on Monday. It's likely in-house, and many are speculating in the comments it could be weekend sports anchor Dave Chudowsky.
  11. Does anyone think that Scripps or TEGNA will or are at least interested in buying WBNX as part of a duoply with WEWS or WKYC?
  12. I would rather have Scripps than TEGNA right now. One of the new hard hitting questions WKYC is asking its AM viewers is whether or not beans belong on chili!
  13. I heard that WEWS has now overtaken WKYC for second place. Viewers are not liking the new format on 3.
  14. I saw on another forum back in '09 that there were rumors that WEWS was thinking of pairing Kimberly Gill with Duane Pohlman for evenings. How would that have worked for a team, and wasn't he up for Ted Henry's spot after his retirement?
  15. The new morning format at WKYC has resulted in a departure already. John Anderson announced on his social media pages that he's no longer at the station.
  16. Does anyone know the national ratings for Daily Blast LIVE? Even the ones for each markets? I'm curious how the show's doing, but the new season's a turn off after they started having two of the hosts engage more in split-screen fights.
  17. John Anderson appears to have left WKYC according to his post in his Facebook page following its format change in its morning newscast. This will be the second time he has left the station.
  18. And WEWS should have never ditched Macie Jepson for Jackie Fernandez (pre-ticket scandal).
  19. Speaking of WEWS, Nick Foley is leaving the station for WPHL in Philadelphia.
  20. WEWS now has TWO openings in the weather department - one part-time and temporary, the other for "Good Morning Cleveland." (Yup, another one from that show is gone!) JD Rudd appears to be gone from the station as his bio is no longer on the station's website.
  21. JD Rudd appears to be gone from WEWS. The station is now looking for a new AM meteorologist, along with a temporary part-time one.
  22. Romona Robinson is leaving WOIO/WUAB at the end of the year, according to Cleveland.com. She said it's her decision.
  23. Here's a promo for tonight's 50th anniversary celebration for WUAB:
  24. WUAB is planning 50th anniversary special on Monday night during its 10pm hour. It'll be a reunion of its 1990s news team followed by half-hour retrospective of the station's history. http://www.cleveland19.com/2018/09/12/special-night-programming-cw-celebrates-years-wuab/
  25. Tegna's syndicated Daily Blast Live is off to a bit of a rough start. Two of the show's host got into a disagreement that went viral for the wrong reasons. So much so that producers have been trying to stop footage from going viral. Too late. https://www.mediaite.com/tv/watch-this-painfully-brutal-panel-show-exchange-you-are-the-living-embodiment-of-white-privilege/ https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/daily-blast-white-privilege_us_5b9abfd5e4b0b64a336d12a3
