  1. So WOIO is canning part of its newscast? Or all of it?

WOIO is canning part of its 4pm newscast starting on September 11. Basically, it will be Cleveland 19 News at 4pm, Inside Edition at 4:30pm, and then 90 minutes of Cleveland 19 News from 5 until 6:30pm. My guess is ratings was bad to justify cutting the 4pm news in half.

  2. WKYC in Cleveland is going to start their morning news at 4am on September 5th. They will join WJW as one of only two stations in the market with an earlier start time.

  3. "Inside Edition" is moving to WOIO/Cleveland from sister station WUAB. It will this fall at 4:30pm on weekdays, which is currently occupied by part of the 4pm local newscast.

  4. I wouldn't be surprised if a new "The Now" on WEWS gets moved to 7pm, with the old "Now" becoming "News 5 at 4" in order to take on "Fox 8 News at 4" and "Snoozefest 19 at 4*"

*Out of respect for the City of Cleveland and due to the fact that WOIO's newscasts are boring as s*it these days, from henceforth I suggest we refer to WOIO's branding as "Snoozefest 19".

What would then happen to The List? Also, is WEWS carrying that new talk show Scripps is supposed to air in the fall?

  5. oooh not Snoozefest 19. Sad part is 19 starting to look better than 5 in news coverage. WEWS has gone to the dogs, and it even sad when 19 starts to become the gold standard over 5. 8 continues to lead.

What happens though when Sinclair takes over 8? How would 5 and even 19 do when that happens?

  6. Today starts the week of farewells as Lee Jordan and Leon Bibb are both retiring from WEWS after Friday and next Monday.

They will be missed from the station after they step down. Leon I saw plans to continue with his Sunday morning show and do some commentaries.

  7. A couple of WEWS/Cleveland moves:

Corrina Pysa is moving from Good Morning Cleveland to The Now at 4pm as Rob Powers' co-anchor, according to her Facebook page. Danita Harris will continue as 6 and 11pm co-anchor with Powers.

Also, Homa Bash is returning to the station according to FTVLive. It is not known what her new role will be.

  8. Did Scripps can The Now? WRTV isn't airing it anymore, moving Judge Judy back to 4 and putting Right This Minute on at 3.

WEWS is still airing The Now. I wouldn't be surprised if they retool it as "News 5 at Four."

Speaking of WEWS, are they picking up that new talk show that Scripps is supposed to be airing?
