  1. So it appears the WFLA 1981 look lasted one year and four days. Yes I’m sharing this here cause I don’t know who composed the theme.
  2. Did somebody want All The News... and almost two minutes of it? Aside from an announcer spiel towards the end you gotta love the instrumental:
  3. The 1982 set was NBC trying to copy Gannett... funny because they would buy WKYC 13 years later..
  4. WTVF from 1985 featuring a future NYC and Philly anchor on the weekends:
  5. KARK in 1999: https://youtu.be/gCdKpY4o_qE
  6. I think he was a Cox VO client. WSB has him on their 1980 open, WHIO used him for promos back in the 1980s, of course there’s WPXI and WSOC, IDs for KCPQ and KTXL, and he also VO’ed WTOG.
  7. Is KSNW 1985 (though I think it was earlier cause KETV used it in 1983) also JAM? Has some similar sounds to WRAL.
  8. WTVG 1981 - Must have changed themes that week - the upload from 5 days before has a different open and theme: https://youtu.be/Su8q1n1MAyI
  9. WALA in 1984 with the NBC Nightly News theme and a pre-WABC Bill Evans:
  10. No. Just those two. This was also because ABC was going to the ratings top and NBC (then on KGTV) was falling to the bottom.
  11. Possibly the oldest footage of an Ed Hopkins-voiced open yet.
  12. Dave Kaylor pre-his days in the ‘Bus.
  13. A “guy” that would be an Arizona mainstay for decades to come was first a “guy” in Milwaukee: https://youtu.be/3KCcHZi4IIo
  14. What appears to be a TVBD package at KTVL: https://youtu.be/MJPuucg34jE
  15. Early 2000s TVBD at its finest here at WYOU:
  16. WBBM in 1991 before they went tabloid:
  17. WNEM did have a knockoff for a hot moment, lasted about 2 months: https://youtu.be/Auqc0g4QcM0
  18. WNAC news, 1980: Why am I posting this? Because today marks 40 years since the April Fools prank where they reported that the Great Blue Hill ski resort was erupting.
  19. Got more Albany goodies, here is a commercial break from February 1994 from WNYT, making me assume the now-current logo design debuted much earlier than I thought:
  20. WXXA pre-the-logo-they-used-for-way-too-long:
  21. From the 518, news coverage of “Hurricane Bonnie,” featuring Neal Estano just before he ended his second tenure at WRGB, and WTEN before the beginning of their decade long run using the WJBK graphics:
  22. KWWL from 1983, featuring one of the earliest Jeff Ellingson VOs and a theme I’ve heard but I don’t know where.
