  1. Here ya go: a demo reel of 90s TVBD featuring some WAGT, WNWO and even some of their work at WBAL:
  2. From that WRGB channel, not news-related, but posting because it was a huge staple of my childhood: Also notable: This was when John Gray filled in for the late Ed Dague after he retired. THIS was the WNYT I remember. Couldn’t have subbed to that channel any quicker.
  3. KSHB in 1996, I’m gonna guess this was an early Hothaus Design?
  4. KTUL from 1986, Charles Ely had taken over Bob Hower’s main anchor spot at that point:
  5. Sticking to KJRH, a look back at the station’s 65th. Highlights include the logo at the time of the call letter change, glimpses of former news sets and opens, and Jerry Webber’s predecessor before switching to news, Sam Jones: https://www.kjrh.com/about-us/join-us-tonight-at-6-30-pm-for-a-walk-down-memory-lane
  6. Really? Just because of a rerun show? What the Fife? https://youtu.be/Q2nmUIvcd_0 WTHR, weekend 1997. Lexington viewers will recognize the meteorologist.
  7. KTVX in 1985, featuring Karen Carns before her Phoenix career:
  8. Gonna give you some Tulsa: Ever wanted to know where Richard Hull went after Cincinnati? Tulsa news Fourth of July, 1986 KJRH had been using Hello as late as 1986.... ....and by September (not August) was using Image Leader. Must’ve coincided with Jerry Webber getting main anchor.
  9. So KJRH used the stylized “2” for Election night 1990 even though they had switched to the circular “2” by September: Judging the “24 Hour News Source” logo they must have used these graphics with the older logo.
  10. A WNEM sports segment from 1999: https://youtu.be/HzNu5Y3HC9I
  11. The very final KIRO newscast before their ill-fated “News out of the box” format kicked in later that day:
  12. KGAN just launched with a horrid black and yellow, and a horrid voiceover:
  13. Ignore the title, KOCO debuted Its All Right Here in 1988 before it changed graphics:
  14. Sticking to Washington, DADOSUPERMARIO2 has been uploaded some TVARK stuff, like this WUSA open from ‘05: Really sad that an almost 15 year old graphics package could actually do better now instead of the dumpster fire that is TEGNA.
  15. Something tells me Scripps is getting the Florida stations rolled out first, but then again they also did KMGH and KXXV.
  16. It’s 11:00! Al Schottlekotte News time!
  17. And here is a full history on the network:
  18. Brave New World and WISH graphics? No wonder why they were last place...
  19. A full newscast from WYFF, late 90s JCBD in all its glory: The pitch is a bit lower, FYI.
