  1. Obviously they wouldn't say anything until the deal closes.
  2. Are they going to take MeTV from WJLP?
  3. Since the FCC describes the current arrangement as meeting regulatory muster, I would think no. The fine will be the end of it.
  4. They're trying to make a new national sports website instead of just a promotional tool for the networks.
  5. If Seattle ever gets another NBA team, will NBC Sports NW disappear from WA cable lineups?
  6. Since Comcast is a cable company, they are able to offer their entire comport of channels for streaming within the wifi reach of a cable modem (the "Xfinity in-home network"). Their out-of-home streaming is far more limited, and doesn't include Root NW.
  7. Comcast has a streaming website. Live feeds and everything. It may only work for cable video customers, but it does exist.
  8. Some team could take a gamble on launching their own regional streaming service.
  9. So the affiliation switch has happened today, with no build-up?
  10. Could WAPA launch as a sub-channel on Univision-owned stations on the mainland in markets with a large Puerto Rican population?
  11. I wonder if the sale includes the Uni affiliation, or will they just move it to WSTE.
  12. This only commits Sinclair to ending a certain type of must-run. Note that Sinclair is committing themselves to more "investigative journalism", not specifically local reporting.
  13. The Cowles stations in Washington state and Montana were hit by a cyber attack: https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2019/dec/10/khq-tv-part-of-cyber-attack-that-hit-news-stations/
  14. The Fox RSNs have different contracts that were negotiated by the previous owners. Any disputes involving them won't happen for a while. This will almost certainly effect talks to begin carriage of Marquee, a new network.
  15. The sale of the YES Network to the Yankees/Sinclair/Amazon/private equity consortium closed today. Sinclair's press release stated that their share of YES has been assigned to Diamond Sports, and that they are now handling the channel's carriage deals, both traditional and virtual.
  16. Sinclair Broadcast sees 'massive opportunity' to rebrand Fox sports networks (Link might be paywalled)
  17. Another question is can it pass the House, since there's no indication if the votes are there.
  18. There is the theoretical chance that Byron Allen running stations with only his shows (whose production costs have already been paid for) could be profitable enough to survive low ratings, but it's more likely he'll run them as normal stations with outside syndicated product.
  19. I bet he'll fill all the non-network and non-news hours with his own programming.
  20. This is heading into the Terrier deal.
  21. The 700 Club thing is just a perpetually valid contract. Disney offered CBN a year's worth of the money they get from airing the show and its semi-annual telethons to buy it out, but Pat declined.
  22. The Justice Department's suit in its appeal form only seeks for AT&T to sell Turner. This interview with Makan Delhaim stated Justice has no problems with AT&T owning Warner Bros. or HBO.
  23. It could be worse if the Justice Department's case wasn't predicated entirely on Turner Broadcasting (AT&T will get to keep HBO even if Justice wins).
  24. Dish is reportedly giving its customers statement credits.
