Looks like Gray is "LP-picking" again.....

They're acquiring Mansfield, Ohio Class A LP, WOHZ-CD from Mid-State Television for $450K.

WOHZ is the sister station of full-power independent, WMFD-TV.

Not sure what Gray is going to do with this LP.

ATSC 3.0 repeater for WOIO/WUAB maybe?

Getting back to WSFL, I hope their morning news has the vibe like the Good Day format that can be found on most of the Fox O&O’s. You know I actually find it appalling that Miami has only one English language choice for local news from 7-9am, Hard News, and no other alternative. Apparently, to me, WBFS and pre-Scripps WSFL were not willing to compete and provide an English language lighter option. If WBFS were to have one, of course it would be from WFOR.

I mean, imagine living in Miami, raising children waiting to go to school, and it was around 7:30am. You want to watch local news in English. Unfortunately, you’re stuck with the compelling newscast that is Today in Florida on WSVN. This is why I’m hopeful that WSFL in ‘21 will provide audiences with a lighter alternative from 7-10am, along with the 4-7am portion, of course.

Miami used to have 3 BTW but WBFS cancelled theirs and then WSFL followed.

It is madness, I agree tho. Hopefully, WSFL brings in a different newscast compared to 7...

Gray has completed its Midland "expansion" with MeTV station KWWT & Cozi TV outlet KMDF-LD

They've even announced that they're going add more "networks" in the near future. What more they can add? They basically have every diginet possible and that's alot for a small market like MIdland (Antenna, Cozi, H&I, Movies!, Decades, along with the big ones MeTV & Ion). And let's not forget their big nets (CBS [KOSA], The CW [KCWO], MyNet & Telemundo [KTLE-LD]). That's ELEVEN streams on five channels (although some networks are streamed on more then one stick).

Since Gray is heavy on Weigel diginets in their footprint, they'll "probably" add Start TV and Gray-owned diginet Circle. But I don't think they'll add anything else.

Gray might be opening up shop for a ATSC 3.0 feed of KOSA as well...

A move spurred in part by WFAA's recent reception woes, no doubt. Their signal has been more elusive than usual since they completed their facility changes this summer. Reducing ERP on VHF wasn't a good idea.

This strikes me as a really roundabout way of doing what should've been a simple facility swap.  If the plan is for Estrella to acquire WFAA's VHF facility, surely this could've been done in a more straightforward fashion? For Estrella, easily parting with an O&O in DMA #5 and potentially ending up on a weaker signal doesn't send a good message about their future.  Either way, Tegna can maneuver this into more cap space...

Estrella already had their financial woes in the past so theres precedence that they may have another here. So they might be happy to take the money...

MoffettNathanson to New Fox. "....dump the broadcast network."

New Fox is pretty diluted as it is, since the entertainment assets are now part of Disney.  It's basically Fox Network, Fox News, and Fox Sports.  The latter will be even lesser if/when Sinclair rebrands the RSNs they bought.

    Yeah...that's not gonna happen
