I wonder whether this will lead to more Sinclair newscasts being centralized.
You know they will. That's how these people work...

Something I noticed at the end of the WTVY article:
Interesting that a station in market 172 commissioned a custom soundtrack, unless they're talking about a few updates to an existing package. I guess we'll see Thursday.
That also means one less station using "Ariel" as their theme

Court TV is on 39.4 for WSFL
Oh shit. I made a mistake. I meant they added QVC. I imagine they'll place Court TV on WPXM soon. It's just a matter of technically and contracts
-
WPXM has already gotten Court TV Mystery, Grit and Laff. Bizzarly enough QVC is on WSFL-DT5 but QVC is still on WPXM's spectrum. I guess Scripps is planning a swap between QVC and Court TV there.

WVLA updated their graphics (way overdue)
The Spirit of Louisiana lives on still as Evolution has been retained

It looks like Andrea Morehead, former WTHR reporter, is suing the station and Tegna for failing to provide ADA accomodations for her breast cancer, as well as retaliation and harassment.
Oof
That don't sound good.

I'm not sure what happened at KSNW, but their midday anchor left the set after seven or eight minutes today. On the replay, she sounded like someone gasping for air, and eventually just stopped reading. The director cut to a surprised meteorologist.
Don't think I've even that in a newscast. Hope she's ok.

Looks like WFIE is getting ready to switch based on this new promo on their Vimeo page...plus another newscast...
This is way overdue
6 ex-Raycom stations are left now

We got 2
A 1987 WFMY newscast
https://youtu.be/PDk3o4my4Bc
And a 1994 WCAU news open (jump to 13:10)

Big surprise to me that WNYW resurrected their O'Clock branding.
That is a rare occurrence in news. Going back to a previous branding? I remember KYW doing it and...that's about it

Looks like KFTA lowkey updated their graphics. The theme is still the same (and rightly so)

Nexstar isn't gonna buy Meredith. Way too many conflicts to deal with. I can see Allen buying Meredith or Standard since they don't own many stations with conflicts
But then again this is probably suitable to the Speculatron thread and not here...

There's nothing anywhere that says the copyright needs to reflect station ownership. It's a Nexstar-produced newscast, featuring people paid by Nexstar, airing on a station that Nexstar has a contract with to provide services for. There's not much difference between this and a news share agreement where one station provides news for another owned by a different party.
Either way, we all know who really runs the show anyways. It doesn't mean much as the FCC lets it slide. Don't hate the player, hate the game...

I fixed it to include the correct station.
That makes even more sense. I can't see WKYC switching affiliates. It's more likely CBS could buy WOIO (which isn't gonna happen anytime soon as Gray won't sell)

Unless CBS wants to Buy WOIO/WUAB and make it better or WKRC switches from NBC to CBS (Tegna is the largest operator of CBS stations in terms of overall market reach, owning 15 CBS-affiliated stations that reach 8.9% of the country.) there is not much CBS can do to get out of the spot they are in for Cleveland. We know Gray won't be able to compete with either WJW or WEWS. If WOIO/WUAB becomes a CBS/CW O&O. It could be run similar to KDKA/WPCW and do pretty well.
WKRC?
