I am betting Nate and the new studio will debut on September 7 or 13. It is common to see those changes go into effect when the new season starts (which tends to be the day after Labor Day or the Monday after LD).
However, with all the news going on rn, I wouldn’t totally be surprised to see him debut this week.
It was originally going to be Sept. 13 according to TV Newser.

Frankly, I think they're afraid to cut ties with the loyal viewers of Blue Bloods and Last Man Standing, as they get higher ratings and ad revenue than the news!
There'd be lots of complaints if they interrupt Blue Bloods or Last Man Standing, even though they're reruns.

It looks like there's a short-term extension for now, so it looks like it's not over yet.

Sinclair stations are still on Dish at this time.

If it really is that much money Sinclair is asking, I would have to actually agree with Dish for once. And if Bally is indeed tied into this, then that's another reason why people are leaving pay tv IN DROVES. It's too expensive, and for what's left is driven up by the cost of programming when the programmers demand MORE and MORE in each cycle.
Technology is pretty much to the point of breaking apart the pay tv bundle for good. Consumers can download all of the "apps" they need to watch what they want, and subscribe to smaller platforms to get most of the channels they desire. The only hitch is when the platforms like Roku decide they don't want to cooperate with companies like Google, and for how long it took for HBOMax and Peacock to be available on Roku and Amazon.
As I mentioned before, are there any cable, satellite or pay tv providers left that still carry the RSN's, and/or do NOT force a surcharge on their customers for them being stuck in the "bundle" of channels they're most likely to get?
DirecTV and Xfinity and other cable providers are about the only providers left to carry RSN'S.

And it reminds me of the late 90s/early 2000s flat look of ABC and ABC News promos.
I thought the same thing.
Now they need to revive the yellow and black scheme and the classic 4-note jingle as well.

Weekend GMA anchor Dan Harris announced his departure from the network this morning. Last day is 2 months from now. One wonders if this is a natural spot for Phil Lipof to assume?
Such a shame to see Dan Harris leaving. He was at ABC News for a long time. I remember the days when he was ABC World News's weekend anchor. Best of luck at 10 percent.

Jeff Glor’s stardom had already climaxed when he was given the EN. They should’ve given him the position when Katie left, and not to Scott.
As a Scott Pelley fan, Jeff Glor probably should've been the anchor in 2011, when he was known at the time as the Early Show news reader.
-
I think CBS should have kept Jeff Glor in Evenings. He was just becoming popular when they replaced him with Norah. Unfortunately, there has to be a network that's in third place and David and Lester were still more popular with viewers.
Norah's not a bad anchor but I still liked her better on CTM and as a White House Correspondent. I also don't care that they sort of copied WNT's method of "shouting" the headlines at the beginning for drama.
I actually do like that the newscast is now based in Washington, as they're always have been more news stories there than in NYC.
I'll guess we'll see what continues to happen to their ratings. I don't see Norah going away in the foreseeable future.

I'm sad that Doc Emrick didn't get to call their final season, but I'm glad they let him do the final closing montage speech.
I wish Emrick was there as well. Kenny Albert's not bad, just a little more average.

I’ve always admired Bret Baier, Martha MacCallum, Bill Hemmer and Chris Wallace for what was a earnest attempt at balanced reporting. As of late they’re starting to show their stripes by entertaining “the steal” conspiracy.
Interestingly KDFW often (or at least used to) remind viewers that they’re separate from the FNC.
Chris is one of the few tolerable ones over there. Shepard Smith was the same until his resignation. Bill seems to be getting a little more far to the right, although probably somewhat better compared to Hannity and Tucker.

I guess I'm restarting there... My biggest complaint is that newscasts appear to get broken into 1 minute chunks... (and my experience has also been that it's not seamless between segments...)

That's only on the TV News Archive. Community Video runs like YT/Vimeo.

Even gaming videos get pulled down here and there for copyright and ridiculous reasons...
Nintendo's a big example of this.

Spam and scams, and YouTube is tight-lipped saying 'No appeal for you! Remain terminated!"
Do you see why VHS collectors are moving to Internet Archive (or elsewhere)?
I searched, just for fun, 'fortnite 2021'. There's someone streaming and playing the newest Fortnite update and within 8 hours of upload it has 2,000,000 views.
Yet the guys in the background who want nothing to do with video games, only to preserve television history for those generations who either grew up with those newscasts or for those whose parents grew up with those newscasts (but they didn't), get yanked off the interwebs.
Ugh. Rant over.
YouTube cares about money. The more higher the interest, the better they care, So many users are getting demonetized over small things as well. Soon all that will be left will be gaming, cat videos, rant videos, sports highlights, viral news/opinion clips, and interviews.
YouTube never encouraged uploading copyrighted material in the first place, but if you ask me, people were going to find a way to upload rare television broadcasts/commercials.

The new logo is not an upgrade, its just oversized and flat. The current logo is the best ABC ever had.
I still like the 1988-2007 logo better. Just very simple.

I'm curious, since 1986, what has changed about the peacock?
They made the logo more 3D for a time starting around 2010.

It's a black circle with three letters in it. It isn't really that special of a logo, but I guess of course they're going to try and sell the change as new! fresh! and innovative!. There, I said it. Get back to me when NBC or CBS tries to change up the peacock or eye.
Both the peacock and eye had slight changes done in the past.

Not a big surprise. All of their other big name talent have their names attached to their shows.

It's a live second hour, but some stations preempt it until 10 for local newscasts (e.g. WPVI).
WTVG in Toledo airs local news at 9 as well.
