  1. What? A combined open? Like, it had both of their logos?

I think that could have been an interesting idea. However, it should have only been for one newscast (like a 7p, titled “Pennsylvania Tonight”). I wouldn’t want that for every newscast, though.

It is definitely sad they had to do that. Although they have had a few new reporters join recently, a lot of people have left (pretty sure three have left the industry).

  2. WFMZ in Allentown will begin airing Highway Thru Hell in the 3a slot on September 7 (assuming it enters syndication on the 6th). Currently airing in that slot is Forensic Files and Justice for All.

Doesn't appear to be airing in Philadelphia, though.

  3. WPSG gets Relative Justice at 10a and 11a; Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court and Supreme Justice currently air in those slots.

UPDATE: WTXF will be airing You Bet Your Life at 7:30p (against Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, and The Goldbergs...). TMZ currently airs in that slot, with a second run at midnight; they could probably push the primary run to midnight, or move it back to 7p, moving Dish Nation's primary run to the 12:30a rerun slot.

During this year's March Madness, WNEM in Bay City, MI had planned to air J!/WOF at 10 and 10:30 AM in the hour vacated by Let's Make a Deal (which goes off-air on some game days). CBS Media Ventures found out about this, called them, and told them they could not air Wheel that early, so they had to air People at 10:30 instead. Doesn't make sense to me; they would rather Wheel not air at all than a few hours early?

That doesn't make any sense to me; if I was a Wheel Watcher, I would definitely rather see it at 10:30a then completely miss that day's episode.

Another thing I never really got was why Wheel doesn't have a daytime run, but Jeopardy does. Is there a reason why Wheel can't air out of prime access (in CT, at least), and doesn't have a daytime run, but Jeopardy can/does?

  5. Would probably make more sense for him to say "See you on Wheel" at the end of Jeopardy, since J! airs first on most Central Time stations since Wheel is required to air in prime access and Jeopardy isn't (quite a few stations in ET/PT air J! first, too). There are a few markets where the shows air on separate stations (one example being Minneapolis; Wheel airs on CBS O&O WCCO, and Jeopardy airs on NBC affiliate KARE)

  6. I agree. Your scheduling gives Cecily and Adam equal airtime, whereas the real scheduling has Adam working one hour more than Cecily (he does 4p hour, 5:30p half hour, and 10p hour, adding up to two and a half hours; she does the 5p half hour, 6p half hour, and 11p half hour, adding up to an hour and a half).
