  1. It's been exactly 35 years since WSVN turned to a Fox Affiliate and made the tabloid format for the news. 1.) Yes, Paramount ain't selling CBS 2.) I'm surprised that WSB didn't fall to second place behind WAGA, given the Apollo ownership.
  2. No. Daystar is not going to pull an KOCE and have too deal with the FCC criticizing them for.
  3. Yea, even though Scripps may not be the most excellent broadcaster, they modernized themselves heavily, but mostly, the issue is on the Ion Television stations. *Laughs in Kansas City*
  4. ... Here's my two cents on the matter 1) I know that Coastal Television is like the worst owner unless it's for, NewsNet programming outta Cadillac, Michigan (for example, KTWO, and the Alaska ABC (KATN, KJUD, KYUR, and KTBY) stations.) 2) I don't fully understand the hate against INSP. Like, okay, it was created from the remains of the PTL Network, and didn't have any Broadcasting station experience until 2022, but what did they somehow do to get hated upon? 3) Yea, some mega-chains are just too big or already in the markets (Example, Sinclair-Owned WJLA and Tegna-Owned WUSA in Washington DC whixh are the only affiliates because the other big four affiliates are owned by the network (NBC-owned WRC and Fox-owned WTTG)) 4) The only reason why Hearst even acquired WBBH and WZVN, (No, not WSVN, the one you legitimately revamped on Wikipedia) is because the Waterman family wanted to sell the stations before one of the family members turned 100. 5) Well, Graham, and Legitimately the networks isn't selling/buying any stations, and why would they do so? I mean, St. Louis once had 2, KTVI from 1997-2008 and KMOV from 1950s-1987 (during the CBS ownership, Channel 4 was called KMOX-TV) (Also, Paramount and CBS is not facing an Ted Turner moment again and are going to stop Byron from owning CBS, whatever the cost.) 6) Retransmission fees don't kinda have anything to make actual other than for revenue? Because cord-cutting, ATSC3.0, anything of those things, Hello??? 7) The FCC is probably focused on WPIX and stopping Robo-calls now than on UHF Discounts (which they did on Robo-calls, thank God they did.)
  5. Nah, I think Cox Media is better owning/operating WPGH and WPNT, mostly because WPXI produces newscasts for WPGH.
  6. I hope KDNL gets acquired by all companies, Scripps. And sell of WPGH and WPNT to Cox Media, which would be somehow perfect for WPXI.
  7. KMBC-TV's looks really cool. Actually, the News opens looked awesome.
  8. For 5 seconds, I actually thought it was Karen Kornacki from KMBC-TV, and I was like, "Did she just un-retire just for this?" Turns out, no.
  9. It's complicated. The CW / Nexstar could ask cable companies in Detroit to put stations like WLAJ-DT2 in Lansing, Michigan, WBSF in Bay City (Michigan Thumb), or WTVG-DT2 in Toledo, Ohio. On-Air; Well, good luck with that.
  10. Here are the options: Any Windsor, Ontario stations are an big NO. WJBK is an bit of an problem, they could put the MyNet program service on 2.2 or an its main signal on late nights. WDIV is the most likely. WXYZ, WKBD, WWJ, WADL, WMYD, or any other station won't be an option.
  11. So, I was looking at the subroom for Scripps when I saw something which said this.

    Quote

My lord...Bill Bonds is probably drunk cussing from his grave about this....

For while it was confusing and now I realized

That Bill Bonds got fired from WXYZ for drunk driving.

    Bruh.

  12. The Pacific Northwest. Everywhere else, I don't know.
  13. Yea, it does. Just like WDAF-TV in Kansas City I don't know if it was an accident but that might be confusing... Probably Nexstar?
  14. WJHG is already prepared for that already... logo-wise.
  15. 1. I don't think it's going to be rebranded as CW9, it's stayin' as WGN. 2. The U is probably gonna move to 26.1. 3. Yes, full circle.
  16. Yea, there are gonna put it on an Subchannel. I mean why would Sinclair or Scripps aquire the Fox affiliation. Since WGN-TV, Channel 9 doesn't have live Local sports telecasts, they can afford to grab The CW from WCIU and Weigel's probably gonna put The U back on 26.1. And it'll 8 years since they removed the CW from WGN in 2016, which putted it on Fox-Owned MyNetworkTV O&O WPWR-TV Channel 50 because... the Sports and stuff back when WGN was ending the Ownership by Tribune Broadcasting/Media and an year before Sinclair Broadcast Group tried to aquire Tribune Media which failed so hard that Sinclair lost almost all of its reputation JUST in 2017-2018.
  17. It took 8 years for WGN to gain the CW again.
  18. (This was over the INSP aquires TV station in 12 Markets from CMG)

I feel like looking at the replies are making me lose so much brain cells, it's legitimately making it clear Y'all can't act right.

It's been 1 AND A HALF YEARS since the deal got closed, and guess what... NOTHING CHANGED. NOTHING. This whole forum as soon as it's clear that an company affected with the PTL Network was going crazy thinking it's the end of the world for KOKI and WHBQ. It didn't get sold off to an Godcaster, nor an Subchannel Farming platform.

Lemme tell this straight, WHBQ was owned by an PRIVATE CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE until RKO General acquired it, for Pete's Sake, I can't with the logic of Y'all. Also, KCNC-TV was NOT BUILT BY GE, It was acquired.

If I was in this chat during that time, I would have told y'all to just shut up, that's the simple response. That's the response. That's it.

Do I have anything else to explain, cause I'm tired of this.

  19. Not just on KONG-TV, KGW also now has the Seattle Krakens.
  20. Soup Olives sounds like an great name for duopolies. It doesn't even add to the fact that bigger effective radiated power doesn't mean the issues about the antennas in Philly had to be. The better answer they should've done is to make an translator, and/or put an simulcast on an full-power station.
  21. Huh, I didn't know that. I guess I was off. Update: The WMEU-CD simulcast is still there.
