Hidden in WABC's press release about being #1 in November is this little nugget: come January, Eyewitness News at 11pm will expand to one hour on weekends.

Let's see...KABC did it awhile ago, WLS did it this season. I must say, I didn't see this coming AT ALL! ^_^

BTW, that beyond painful to read. WLS released a statement like this a few months ago via Facebook and got crucified for it in the comments section. Most people don't care about the ratings. I mean it's one thing to brag a little, but this article is just painful.

It kinda makes a little sense to expand to one hour, because last night I tuned in at around 11:30 just to see what the weather was gonna be like and such and the broadcast was already over, I subconsciously was thinking to myself, I wished that they had extended the broadcast and low and behold they are indeed, extending :). I guess this seems to be a trend that more and more people are tuning in towards the end of the broadcast.. There must be a reason why WABC is expanding their broadcast, WABC simply doesn't make changes like this for no reason, there had to be a reason and this probably might have been it.

Today Ken and Lori were on 4:30am-7am but at 12pm David and Lisa are on.

Did they simply have an event to attend so David and Lisa are subbing?

Whatever it was they must have left right after the newscast was done because Lisa was doing the updates during GMA.. Also was Bill Evans there during the morning? cause Amy was doing the weather updates and the noon newscast.
