Either call them by their brand, or just stick to the calls. Be professional. Just noticed that the writer was a former KYW sports staffer (see the bio at the bottom), so that probably explains why they're a little testy about the station now. I'd just use 'channel 3' myself, but it's Philly media and you know how they can get. 1 1

phillynewslover 166 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 This is totally random, but I've been watching Drew Barrymore a lot lately and I noticed that the temperature on KYW's time/temperature bug is stuck at 57 degrees. It's currently 61 degrees at the airport. It's been at 57 degrees for weeks. The time does change each minute, though. I guess nobody has noticed. I think KYW is one of the only CBS O&Os that has a time/temperature bug anyway. It and WPSG are the only Philly stations that have one.

I remember before they switched to "CBS Philadelphia" news, the weather bug was off often. If it was 90-95 outside, it was 101 on the bug. 1

It was close enough for a while, but now it's not even close to 57 degrees. It's 90 at the airport right now. I wonder if they'll finally notice it now that it's wildly incorrect. I also remember the bug going up to and over 100 degrees. Even though the last time we actually hit 100 degrees (other than last year) was back in 2012. Edited April 16 by phillynewslover 1

It's fixed now. Ironically the real temperature is 56 degrees, which is only one off, but it does actually say that now. The degree symbol is gone, but at least the temperature is right. I guess that heat got them to realize it was wrong. 1
