I don't see it being mentioned....

[Edit] Well, at least not in the NY boards.

That's because we don't need one for every board, it's the same website for all the O&Os.

Congratulations 24994J, Chicago is officially the only board that didn't make a duplicate thread.... :bang: We were so close too.

He didn't have to be an ass about it.

I will admit, he did kind of rub it in your face that you were stupid and didn't check the other boards. So, yeah, although there was an open thread about it already, members like you just wanted to inform others about it, so I completely respect the ambition of you to create this thread. It can always be locked by an admin., so, what's the big deal? Don't worry about it, you are doing nothing wrong!

  • 2 weeks later...

I checked earlier this week the new 7online.com.

I don't like it. It's too simple and it looked like it was done by non artsy coders.

However, I did notice that WABC's site was ripped and made from a template. Why? WABC never spelled "ABC7" without a space. That is the longtime branding of the California O&Os. And there were several instances of that spelling. I thought the station's local branding was still Channel 7 and/or "ABC 7" with a space?

It is, the same things happen with other owners, WXYZ is also Channel 7 or just 7.... the variation in the on-air promos as to what the hub wants to call it in written form are amazing. Scripps got the website right for them at least, just the first example that came to mind, but I don't think it's uncommon to have some tiny variations due to using only one kind of format from a central design place where people may not know the market or the branding.

Not surprised knowing how selfish and narcissistic left coast people can be, maybe it was their way to push the California style out east.

Actually how much slack can a local station manage the site? Does the station's IT have at least one root access or access to the layout?
