The ratings in Jacksonville:

4:30 a.m.

Ratings were not mentioned from either WJXT 4, WTLV 12 or WFOX 30, but I think WJXT 4 won this one. (WJAX 47 doesn't air at 4:30 a.m., neither does WJXX 25)

5:00 a.m.

WJXT 4 - 3.9 rating

WTLV 12/WJXX 25 - 1.9 rating

WFOX 30/WJAX 47 - Not mentioned

5:30 a.m.

WJXT 4 - 5.3 rating (doesn't mention the others for this timeslot; but does beat competition combined)

6:00 a.m.

WJXT 4 - 7 rating/22 share (+13% increase from last year)

WTLV 12/WJXX 25 - 4.3 rating/14 share

WJAX 47 - 1.8 rating/6 share

WFOX 30 - 1.5 rating/5 share

(if WJAX 47/WFOX 30 were combined, it be a 3.3 rating/11 share. Would still be in third place)

7:00 and 8:00 a.m.

WJXT 4's The Morning Show - 6.7 rating/20 share (41st consecutive monthly win)

WTLV 12's Today Show - 2.9 rating/9 share

WJXX 25's Good Morning America - 2.1 rating/6 share

WJAX 47's CBS This Morning - 1.8 rating/6 share

WFOX 30's Action News This Morning - was not mentioned, but probably was beat.

9:00 a.m.

WJXT 4's The Morning Show - 4.4 rating (beats WTLV 12's Today Show by +83%)

(WJXX 25 aired LIVE with Kelly and Michael while WJAX 47 aired Rachel Ray and WFOX 30 had 2 episodes of Right This Minute)

Noon

No ratings were announced for this timeslot (WJXT 4, WTLV 12 and WJAX 47 air local news while WJXX 25 airs Divorce Court and WFOX 30 has The Real)

5:00 p.m.

WJXT 4 - 7.2 rating/14 share (growing +3% from last year)

WJAX 47 - 4.6 rating/9 share

WTLV 12/WJXX 25 - 3.9 rating/8 share

(WFOX 30 has Family Feud)

5:30 p.m.

WJXT 4 - 7.9 rating/15 share (up +4% from last year)

WTLV 12/WJXX 25 - 4.9 rating/9 share

WJAX 47 - 4.8 rating/4 share

(WFOX 30 has Millionaire)

6:00 p.m.

WJXT 4 - 8.8 rating/16 share

WTLV 12/WJXX 25 - 6.7 rating/12 share

WJAX 47 - 5 rating/9 share

(WFOX 30 has Millionaire)

10:00 and 10:30 p.m.

WJXT 4 - #1 and +9% growth from last year

WFOX 30 - Not mentioned but was pretty beat badly, according to release

WTLV 12/WJXX 25/WJAX 47 - Not mentioned either, but was also beat.

11:00 p.m.

WTLV 12/WJXX 25 - 5.7 rating

WJXT 4 - 5.2 rating

WJAX 47 - 3.6 rating

(WFOX 30 airs Modern Family)

WJXT 4 easily won 6:30 p.m. by force and even though noon numbers were not released, I bet you WJXT 4 also won that timeslot as well.

Here's the rest of the release and it shows a pic of Tom and Mary and it pretty much sums up WJXT 4's big victory in November Sweeps: http://www.news4jax.com/news/wjxt-wins-in-november-ratings/29999604

Just look at KSAT 12. Their noon, 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. newscasts (all hour-long) are #1 - just gives you an idea that an hour-long 6:00 p.m. news concept does work under certain situations.

It works because everyone's dials are rusted on 12... They could show color bars and still be number one. I doubt that would work with KNXV...

Poor KEYE, talk about a mismanaged station. Seems like they were more competitive when they were an O&O.

KPNX I think has kinda held steady in a slow decline, which I'd have to say is related to talent.

I believe KPNX's presentation just needs refreshing. They are suffering the same issues other Gannett stations (including the acquired Belo stations) have had with declining viewership. The veteran anchor team of Cooney & Curtis is showing their age, and no one here is really loyal to one anchor team, except for the KTVK "Good Morning Arizona" crew (and Meredith seems to be messing with a good thing, so I don't know how long their dominance will last).

Since you mentioned the former Belo stations, look at KHOU 11's ratings in the 25-54 demo. I'll post the link for Houston's ratings again below.

I agree CBS should have never sold this station in such a rapidly growing market. Cerberus/Nexstar and now Sinclair is killing this once competitive station...

A long time no see from with news that KPRC has won it Houston according to Mike McGuff.

In Adults 25-54, Monday-Friday 6:00am ratings, KPRC Local 2 took the top spot:

KPRC 2.3

KTRK 2.0

KRIV 1.3

KHOU 1.2

In Adults 25-54, Monday-Friday 6:00pm ratings, KPRC Local 2 was first again:

KPRC 2.3

KTRK 2.0

KHOU 1.2

And at 10:00pm, Local 2 News was #1 in the five and seven day ratings despite KTRK getting more than a full rating point advantage from their weekday 9p ABC lead-in. The ratings for Monday-Sunday were:

KPRC 2.7

KTRK 2.6

KHOU 1.7

  • 2 weeks later...

Well...the November ratings for Atlanta haven't been released by WSB, which means some very good news (at least for me): despite Fox's fourth-place troubles, first place belonged to WAGA!

According to their promos, they've had the #1 Election Night coverage, #1 late news (10:00-11:30, also beating WXIA and WGCL), and Good Day Atlanta has been beating GMA/Today/CBS This Morning. WSB of course won everything else.

Then again, I could be dead wrong...
