WXmanTim 88 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Most likely no one but "tv nerds" watching would have caught the reference, but the first couple of minutes of tonight's episode dealt with Springfield realizing their "town anthem" was also sold to a dozen other cities.
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 They do a great job at parodying local news. I was watching FXX today and one of the episodes had "Eye on Springfield" which was basically a parody of KABC's "Eye on LA". http://www.hulu.com/watch/28740
TheRolyPoly 2559 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I thought nothing at first when I saw the episode, but now that this thread brings it up, maybe it is. Even though South Florida never had "Hello News," that doesn't mean I can dream... "Hello South Florida, Hello South Florida!!! W-S-V-N loves you!" (using my favorite station as an example)
Oliverolang 41 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I was thinking the same thing when I heard the jingle.
rkolsen 1685 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I just read an article that states Hello was commissioned by WISN for Gari. I was left with an answered question at the end of the article: who make more in syndication/owns the copyright? I only ask that in the past I heard that the commissioner ultimately owns the copyright for the work with the remaining belonging to the composer for personal use?
WWUpdate 1292 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Family Guy did a nice parody of cheesy 1980s news promos: http://s0.videopress.com/player.swf?guid=AqK624Rp Their spoof reminds me of this promo in particular:
