Big Country News 435 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 FOX News Channel premiered a series on the wild west entitled "Legends & Lies" This continues FOX News/Business' push towards the original content market that MSNBC and CNN tapped years ago. FOX News has began showing FBN's "Strange Inheritance" and Bill O'reilly's book movies on weekends as well. Obviously can't be a ratings stunt, FNC has enough to spare. Is this a corporate experiment?
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Probably. It makes for good filler in the not so desirable timeslots and probably is much cheaper to produce than having talent and a support team make new content every single week.

Big Country News 435 Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Did I see somewhere that Bill O'Reilly is one of the brains behind 'Legends & Lies'? He made appearances in both episodes shown. But remember, he was once a history teacher, so it's not too far-fetched.
susquvalleywgal 520 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Did I see somewhere that Bill O'Reilly is one of the brains behind 'Legends & Lies'? Since when did Bill-O-The Clown have a brain??? -- Matt
24994J 5621 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Apparently he's executive producer. http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/legends-lies-the-real-west-to-debut-on-fox-news/260343
Rusty Muck 4399 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Fox News did air "The 1/2 Hour News Hour" way back in 2006... buried at 10pm on Sunday nights for about six weeks. Joel Surnow from "24" was the main person behind the show. It was a 'conservative' iteration of "The Daily Show" ... and went over about as well as you would expect. The regular FNC viewer base tuned in, but the audience plummeted in subsequent weeks, and the show wound up being quietly cancelled.
Rusty Muck 4399 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Since when did Bill-O-The Clown have a brain??? -- Matt All people, by design, have brains. It's "human intelligence" that is an oxymoron.
