KOB 4 in Albuquerque debuted their new graphics during today's 5 PM newscast. I've attached the new graphics from tonight. Thoughts?

It's kind of hard to tell whether its better or worse than the 2008 WABC graphics they used before with just the four pics, it's probably better seen complete and in full motion to judge it better. Although, the top line text in the L3's upper panel (seen in the third pic) is clearly missized.

The news director and creative services director who signed off on that need to be fired. Immediately.

Those look like some of the mocks around here. The mocks aren't bad for hobbyists with photoshop but wouldn't you think a professional graphic artist would be better?

...I feel like I could do better. I actually have a KOB concept among my concepts too, just because that 4 logo doesn't rub me right.

That 4 logo looks like it got chopped off in the bottom shot...

I feel like these graphics are something that people here would have probably found to be passable just a few years ago.

They should have just taken KSTP's graphics instead (which aren't perfect) but are a big improvement.

Off topic but whoever mixed up the ticker on KOB needs to be fired. What I mean is that they put the weather where the news is and vice versa.
