Dana Tyler - 25 years at WCBS

Today is Dana's 25th anniversary with WCBS. I found it disappointing that there was no retrospect and/or promo celebrating her 25 years at 6pm, as they did for her 20th anniversary.

I still watch CBS 2 News at 6 just for Dana... it's truly incredible that she is still there with the purges WCBS used to go through and with their hard pivot to the very young.

Dana, is a beautiful women and has been for a long time. A permanent fixture on NY News, classy! She must be near 60, is she still dating Phil Collins. Hope to watch her for many years to come!!

Has anybody thought maybe she didn't want any fanfare about her 25th. Dana is a very humble person, and she comes back to her hometown Columbus, OH where she was at WBNS before going to The Big Apple at WCBS-TV. There was a time where the station had hit rock bottom. Congrats to Dana on 25 years at Channel 2 in New York!

They did acknowledge her silver year at the end of the 6PM broadcast tonight- saw a montage of old clips dating back to 89/90; she then began to thank the viewers, but was cut off when they went to Scott Pelley (whoops).

Can anyone please name one newscast that Ms. Tyler anchored that was number 1 in the ratings? Just one please.

Is that really fair though? Can someone name a newscast that's not Eyewitness News that has managed to be number one in the New York market over the last 2 decades or so?

WNBC routinely won mornings and 11pm for some time in the 90s and early 2000's. At one point they even won at 5pm, thanks to Judge Judy.

That said - I do see your point that EWN has a huge and loyal following that's hard to overcome.

And lets not forget WNBC's Live at Five was a ratngs powerhouse. Fact is, Dana Tyler has never been on a newscast that was highest rated. If she was, she would still

be lead anchor and anchoring the 11pm show, right?
