hmaxhanson 650 Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 I watched and recorded the debut. Dude Walker is also gone after over 25 years of voiceover with the station. I knew about this 2 weeks in advance. I was gonna do a thread on this, but I didn't think anyone would care, just goes to prove how much of a dump this market is.

The same reason nobody cared about the Gainesville market until I started living here.
WestleyWolf 122 Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 At least it looks like a station now. because almost everything about that station was getting kinda dated.
ProButtonPusher 230 Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 The bastardized newsroom set with “Coverage You Can Count On” (yes, in “quotes”) on a white frame surrounding a single 80” monitor — finally gone. Vast improvement.
MidwestTV 1244 Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Very good looking digs. Also neat, KCTV and WCTV are both CBS affiliates.
hmaxhanson 650 Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Very good looking digs. Also neat, KCTV and WCTV are both CBS affiliates. And WCTV's previous logo was a variant of KCTV's 2002 logo.

Vast improvement. 11 years they said but they only put that white framing up in the late 2000s and the set was still in the newsroom, just covered up with white framing that's all.
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 I like it as well. Is this the “Gray” cookie cutter set?
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 I like it as well. Is this the “Gray” cookie cutter set? Could be. WTVG has a similar set as well.
RGSJenkins 435 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 They now use "This is the Place" replacing "Aerial."
Daybreak 289 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 They now use "This is the Place" replacing "Aerial." Nice update to bring them into the 21st century!
CircleSeven 1960 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 I like it as well. Is this the “Gray” cookie cutter set? Yep, it's that set.
MidwestTV 1244 Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I like it as well. Is this the “Gray” cookie cutter set? Yep, it's that set. Not quite...Gray seems to have a couple of different standard set designs. KOLN in Lincoln comes to mind. Theirs looks nothing like this.
