Yes. Its coming up. The current mayor has an overwhelming lead in the polls (don't mean to get off topic there).

 

It started when they started doing Boston 25 News NOW at 11 am, Noon, and 4 pm, which I believe is coming up to a year now that they've done so.

Figured as much. I moved from southern NH to CT in April 2024 and didn't remember WFXT doing it even in those last weeks before I left.

 

Mind you, this is the station that once had live coverage of a winter storm from basically 10:00pm to 8:00pm the next night only a few months after they'd been bought by Cox, so them finding some way to go all-news for the overnight hours doesn't entirely surprise me.

Many — but not all — portions of the WFXT morning and early afternoon newscasts are recorded and replayed. FTV mentioned it when they started doing it about a year ago. Trying to watch for more than about an hour is painful. When I was in Boston a few months ago, it was pretty cringe.

To be honest, I haven't watched WFXT in a long time. But I can still recall the music they used during their last years as a Fox O&O.

Only six months for Brianda Villegas at WFAA Dallas. She's out, but not because of getting in trouble with the station for social media posts or anything like that, but rather for a much more serious situation, that involves her health.

 

She's coming back to my home state of Florida but she's been really feeling out and about lately and is opening up to her struggles of mental health and hopes anyone who watches this and is going through the same situation to call and find help.

24 years at KTNV Las Vegas should give you enough recognition to get into a statewide Hall of Fame for broadcasting.

 

Thankfully, that's just happened to Tricia Kean, now part of the Nevada Broadcasters Association's Hall of Fame.

WWMT was off the air briefly on Saturday. Usually, when this happens, it could be due to severe weather damage, maintenance or other things.

Her first day was during Hurricane Irma (2017), and she got to work with Tom Sorrells.

 

Her final day at WKMG Orlando is tonight after eight years and its rare for a longtime met to stay on weekends for so long. Yet, for Samara Cokinos, she did it all.

WAKA Selma/Montgomery is launching a new half-hour morning newscast at 9 a.m. starting later this morning, and combining it with Daytime Jeopardy! at 9:30 a.m. will replace Dr. Phil in that timeslot as today's the day Dr. Phil officially goes away from syndication.

Today starts an interesting new era at KCPQ/KZJO (looking up TitanTV and OnTVTonight schedules for this information).

 

First off, it looks like today's the day Good Day Seattle expands to 11 a.m., though they've cut the 4:30 a.m. half-hour as they promised in the summer news announcement of news expansion at KCPQ/KZJO. We already know about the 4-8 p.m. and 10 p.m.-12 a.m. changes at KCPQ.

 

However, over on KZJO, they've turned it into a secondary news station. First, they're adding a 9-11 a.m. repeat of Good Day Seattle from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., then a simulcast of FOX 13's Local Live Desk (straight from the FOX Local service) from 1-4 p.m., and after a short break, a simulcast with KCPQ from 6-8 p.m. before delivering more Seattle News Tonight exclusively for KZJO from 8-10 p.m.

Krista McEnany hasn't been seen on WXIN/WTTV since April. There's a reason why.

 

She suffered a stroke, an ultimate health scare that took her immediately off the air. She is recovering nicely but will not return, at least not anytime soon, as she's also pregnant and is expecting a third child that's due late next month. More than likely, she won't be back on the air until next year after her maternity leave is over.

Yup... Wren and Reggie were posted here last week, when it was announced. We will never hear the impetus of Wren's departure- whether it was budget or her claims against KSTP, but would be interesting to learn what happened.

Chief Meteorologist Ross Whitley just recently left WMBB Panama City after 8 years to join WNCN Goldsboro/Raleigh.

 

His replacement is no stranger to Panama City's airwaves... Justin Kiefer returns on September 22nd as Chief of the newly named StormTeam 13 (they dropped the First Alert part of the name, mainly because Gray owns the trademark and will more than likely use it on WJHG soon. WDHN has dropped it too for simply the WDHN StormTeam since WTVY already uses First Alert Weather there).

 

Justin was on WMBB's airwaves from 2005-2018, including the most devastating hurricane to hit the Florida panhandle: Hurricane Michael.

Edit: not quite, but sort of. Also, this is the second time Sinclair has fired Bates in the market (WJAR previously).

Well, Sinclair has apparently found new ways to Sinclair.  Operate under the radar so they don't have to deal with the FCC.

 

Based on traditional FCC rules (which are basically a moot point in this climate), wouldn't a newsroom outsourcing qualify as a JSA/SSA and need to be disclosed?

 

Then again, WLNE has always been a cursed doormat, especially in it's post-Freedom days when they were under receivership through Global Broadcasting.
