Agree. It gives the show a lot more depth and looks so much better visually.  Don’t know why they can’t go back to on set every week.

Significantly cheaper using a green screen. Less space needed, fewer stage hands. I assume the set used for Christmas is in storage the rest of the year.

Beautiful tribute to Charles Osgood today. And really made you see how much the show is a former shell of itself. Charles was so curious and seemed to bring that curiosity into the show each week. Jane Pauley really doesn’t do that, and is there to really just introduce the stories. If Charlie was still hosting, it would still be on set. Otherwise where would they put the piano???

Toward the end, Charlie (who I loved) did little else but introduce stories. Jane turns a package now and then.

Dan Rather was on CBS Sunday Morning today, his first appearance on the network since his 2006 ouster. The Evening News has remained unstable in the 19 years since Rather left the desk.

I thought Sunday Morning was going to address why they've been on green screen long term. Jane just said they're on green screen for today's "By Design" episode so they can change between backgrounds done by a featured design firm.

SB: Sunday Morning uploads stories to their YouTube 5 to 10 minutes after they've aired. This really gives people no incentive to watch the show live on TV. SNL is the same way.
