Georgie56 3318 Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 CBS correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti reported on today’s edition of the Evening News that CBS News is pausing all activity on Twitter as Elon Musk’s handling of the website is under scrutiny. I assume this also applies to the O&Os as well, as (of this posting) most have not tweeted in 2-3 hours.
C Block 1566 Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 I noticed Jim Benemann said the same thing, and I'm sure there are probably others out there as well. I am not an Elon fan at all nor do I think Twitter is headed in the right direction, but it seems a bit extreme to tell everyone company-wide to lay off on it, even temporarily. The site at least still works relatively the same as it did a month ago...

Similarly to the way advertisers have pulled out because of Elon’s verification strategy, I think it makes perfect sense for media outlets to step away until things are formalized and clear. It poses a significant reputational risks.
mre29 1552 Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 The @CBS account hasn't posted a new tweet since Thursday night, so I can believe it applying to more than just the news division.
