Ntropolis 599 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I hate it... it's Web 2.0 taken too far. The others have debuted as well (at least WTVD's).
Vlad 334 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I think its a step down, the previous one looked by far better... Looks like something that anyone could've designed. It seems to be a new ABC O&O Format basically. Because KABC and WLS have the same looking websites.
qwertynyc 0 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 You people are never happy with anything. I personally think it is a huge improvement and I will probably frequent it more often because of the ease in navigation and the less cluttered look from the previous website.
abric 181 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 The one thing I do like is that the video is larger and centered. but i do agree the website is a little plain.

civic110 20 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 They're just trying to compete with WCBS, which has the best website of anyone around.
wabceyewitness 827 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 I like the emphasis on bigger and more video. Overall, though, it's no better but also no worse than the previous version of the website.
Jess 1116 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 You guys are nuts. I love it. Because someone really got the message - hey, why do local news sites look so god damn cluttered all the time? You look at something like the NBC IBS sites or even the CBS O&O sites, and it's just a ton of info thrust at the user and pretty unclear navigation that changes with each different page. Not here - it's a triumph of web 2.0. Navigation, page structure, and design is consistent across every single page of the site now. Video is in 16x9 - gasp! - for the ones that are doing HD. Advertising isn't as intrusive - well, okay, they're still doing those "guy walking across page to talk to you" video ads that annoy me so much and only ABC seems to do - and it's confined to certain portions of the screen. The only problem I have is that some of the sites deviated from the simple station logo on the top left to small promotions for the station or newscast, which doesn't work nearly as well. They're trying to do something different, and it's working - I'll definitely give the ABC sites more of a look now with this new interface.
Guest zas1977 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 A B&C article relative to the site "redefines". http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA6508769.html
IceManNYR 240 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 The O&O's have had their websites slightly updated. That annoying flash window with the top news stores is gone. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/
Weeters 1969 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 This has already been mentioned in the General TV board. http://www.packofseven.tv/tvnt/showthread.php?t=6155 Because the update applies to all the ABC O&O sites, and not just WABC, this thread is now locked.
