Other than his agent's quote in that original Daily News column, no. But there are rumors of him going to the fourth hour of TODAY, replacing Tiki Barber.

Wow! Let it be true! Then nasty old SuitSnob can see him on the national feed! Hooray!!! (Plus, he'd be really, REALLY good at that...).

Source of this "rumor?"

Posted in the Ron Corning thread over at TVSpy, and I've also heard it from people who know Ron....

So tell Old SuitSnob...

What is the status with GoodDay? Any permanant anchor? Any news on Ronnie's latest adventures?

Posted

No permanant anchor yet. Rick F., usually on at 6pm, was on last week and today Greg Kelly from FOX News Channel was co-anchor.

Posted

Let's not forget another contender -- Jeff Rossen who chose to leave Channel 7 when his contract expired at the end of May. It's no big secret that Rossen was hoping to get the morning anchor job at WABC when Steve Bartelstein was let go...and it's not a big secret that he wants more than just a daily reporting gig.

Give the permanent slot to Rick. He and Jodi have a good rapport. He's wasted at 6pm.

And if they drop Dari at 6 as has been rumored, at least Rick will still have a job around the station and they can move Rosanna (and Ernie - for as long as he's still there) into a full 90-minute newscast.

No but there is news on who may get the job,

FTVLive is reporting that Greg Kelly at FNC, is going to be the new co-anchor on Good Day New York.

Bad move. He is dry as toast.

They should have given the fulltime gig to Rick or Reid.

And disappointed they took Christina off the show. Her silly personality injected some life into the show.

It seems like the other change is Karen Hepp has been moved to co-anchor of GDNY First Edition and Christina Park is back to anchoring solo on the weekends.

Oh my GOD!!! He is wearing THE SUIT in several of the clips!!! Say it aint so Ronnie! But boy did he look snappy back in his ABC days..what happened?

Suit Attacks notwithstanding, what a showcase of his amazing, versatile talents, skill and charm. He should have posted the Kikachu incident...I amy have to dig that up and get it posted on Youtube...that would make him a sensation and then hopefully we can see him on TV again.

Ron should do just fine. The heterosexuals and the homosexuals both like him. Some of the latter a little too much. :) Just hope he doesn't get sucked in by them. About they way he may dress that is.

I have it on good authority that he tossed THE SUIT, and in the last six months he was still on the air he rarely had a mishap.

(Who are these homosexuals that have some sort of crush on him?:))

Posted

I think he was a good reputable anchor, and I still can't figure out why WNYW had let him go, he seemed to really know what he was doing...

Since Ron himself is one of us homosexuals, it's a little too late for him not to get "sucked in" by us, isn't it?
