I've wondered this whole time, if Ten really wanted to make a point of difference in the mornings, why didn't they try doing local morning shows from the 5 capitals? No one else (except Channel Nine Perth) is doing local news in the morning. It also would have been easier for Ten to serve up a 30 minute news wheel of news/weather/traffic/features/interviews for 2-3 hours in the morning, with probably the same number of staff who worked on Wake Up (spread out across the country of course).

I would guess that it's more expensive to operate a morning program for 5-6 Capitol cities instead of one major program. Wake Up was pretty bad from the start but I hoped Ten would at least tweak the format instead of ending the show completely.

Last week SBS experimented airing the late edition of SBS2's news program "The Feed". The experiment will last for a month. It is called "The Late Feed" and it's airing every Monday at 10:30 pm on SBS One. SBS World News late edition at 10:30 pm would still be airing on Tuesday to Friday as usual. Here are a couple of videos of The Late Feed, courtesy of SydneyCityTVVideos on Youtube.

Still about Nine News but going further east to Sydney. Nine News Sydney congratulates Mike Moore, the floor manager who has been in service for 40 years. He has been working since 1974, just one year before colour TV started in Australia.
