Vlad 334 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Any word on when the official launch date will occur for the new Digital 24/7 News Channel?
DMA 135 Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I've heard January 21st. It's not a 24/7 news channel, but it is essentially the old 4.4 service with a few extra hours of news a day...probably something like 12pm, 4pm, an extended 5pm, perhaps even a 10pm...I don't think it's going to be as big as people think.
anchorman 96 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 I've heard January 21st. NBC could use a 12noon news. I think that a 10pm wouldn't be bad as well.
Vlad 334 Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 NBC could use a 12noon news. I think that a 10pm wouldn't be bad as well. Unfortunately WABC would crush them. They did attempt to do one in the 90s though the ratings simply did not work out for them.

DMA 135 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 From Time Warner's website: The previously scheduled renaming of Weather Plus (ch.161), slated to occur on February 21st, and its associated format changes, have been postponed until further notice. Looks like it was axed. They essentially moved into the newsroom for nothing.
first on fox 18 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 I doubt they would spend millions of dollars then scrap it. Probably just pushed back, again.
Amra 171 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I doubt they would spend millions of dollars then scrap it. Probably just pushed back' date=' again.[/quote'] Well it's WNBC. I wouldn't be surprised they axed it.
IceManNYR 240 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 The logo for the Weather Plus channel on FiOS has now been changed to The NBC Peacock with "NY Nonstop" below it .
DMA 135 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 It's quite...interesting. I would cap it, but my EyeTV Hybrid's composite cord broke off.
