Offtopic onto the storm, this storm I have to say is the worst I've seen in years. I've never seen a storm where all of my windows were covered up. Its honestly never been this bad. Luckilly there is no school nor work, for me, lol. For the most part, businesses might just remain closed tomorrow because this is a killer storm.

The storm is finally over well at least around here and some sunlight is starting to poke through. I gotta day that WABC wins this time in terms of coverage they've been on for so many hours. Bill and surprisingly Liz Cho are on right now covering the aftermath. Reminds me of their coverage that they did back in 2003's Blizzard. I also want to give credit to a particular reporter, Josh Einiger and Jamie Roth they've seem to be on for probably the most hours. And of course Bill Evans who i someone mentioned canceled his vacation to cover this weather. I bet they are missing Heidi Jones now lol. Gotta say although the storm wasn't as bad in terms of accumulation the pictures outside my window look like the scenes from the the 2004 disaster movie "Day After Tomorrow" wicked storm.

FOX5 is back on at 12pm with a special newscast, Greg and Tai anchoring.

Ch11 I'm guessing went to regular programming at 9am as regular programming was on at 10am.

WNBC is still live with Erika and Pat anchoring.

WABC is live, they have Bill and Liz anchoring and Sade reporting from the Upper West Side.

WCBS is live with Rob and Mary anchoring.

Ken Rosato is with Liz now. I guess Bill finally got some sleep.

At 1pm WCBS, WNBC, WNYW and WABC are still live.

WPIX came on as they wait for the Mayor's press conference.

Chris is anchoring.

Anyone know why the pool feed for the Mayor's press conference is 4:3?

It's been that way since they went with the pool feed for the press conferences.

WCBS, WNYW, WABC, and WPIX all signed off at 2PM, but WCBS and WABC will be back on at 4PM. I'm not sure about WNYW or WPIX.

WNBC is STILL running coverage with Melissa Russo and Janice Huff anchoring. I don't think it is necessary to be airing coverage this afternoon until normal newscast times because there is nothing new. All around the tri-state area, the sun is coming out and most roads, especially in the Hudson Valley where I am, are a little slippery, but clear. The coverage on all of the channels gets a little repetitive after a while, but I think maybe WNBC made the right decision by extending coverage rather than showing "Real Housewives."

At 3pm David and Melissa took over coverage on WNBC.

FOX5 just did a quick update and Ernie said they will start the newscast at 4pm.

Jodi did a quick update on WPIX. WABC did one with Sade.

At 4pm.

WCBS has Maurice and Christine anchoring.

WNBC has David anchoring solo.

WNYW has Heather Brown and Ernie.

WABC has Bill and Sade.

WPIX is doing updates on the hour with Jodi at the news desk in the studio and no graphics on screen.

I noticed WNBC had a remote that was close to HD quality are they starting to switch from 16:9 SD to HD?

WCBS has been using their new mobile video broadcast technology for live reports while the crews are driving in the NYC area.

The one report that was close to broadcast quality kept breaking up while in Manhattan,

they have another that's more like decent quality web video that was not breaking up.

I noticed FOX5 also uses some device to stream video with good quality.

At 5pm on WABC Bill gets a break with Liz anchoring with Sade.

WNBC has pre-empted LXTV for David anchoring.

WPIX is doing another update and the L3 graphics are working.

Everyone ended their coverage at 6:30pm.

WNBC came back on at 7pm simulcasting NY Nightly News.

At 11pm,

Maurice and Dana are on WCBS.

David is solo on WNBC. Chuck is off this week and will return along with Sue on January 3rd.

Bill and Liz are on WABC.

WNBC did an hour newscast with The Tonight Show starting at 12am.

It's probably being produced by a third party (probably the city), who presumably doesn't have HD equipment. Pool feeds are often transmitted via satellite, as well, and HD satellite time is expensive.

When did LXNY get a new open? It's better than the previous one.

I noticed WABC preempted Oprah again...pretty unnecessary, if you ask me.

Totally unnecessary, its not like the majority of the viewers are home to watch the coverage either considering many people are simply out and about and are probably on vacation. I gotta say even TVNT is going overboard with that new Blizzard 2010 banner on the top right hand corner, of the page lol. It isn't all that bad considering since we've seen worse storms what about the other three we had earlier in the year?

Correct! NYC TV provided the handout pool feed of the presser to the locals.
