The problem is, the producers still cram the same lame content into the show, no matter who's anchoring it. Five minute segments on Lindsay Lohan, at least once a week, will not get new viewers. Most people won't go checking their backgrounds or go reading their bios on the site. They just come across as "airheads" on the screen. Gotta remember, the average viewer doesn't know (or would even care to know) what we know about these people. I give this team 2 years at the very most.. They'll somehow rework Harry Smith back into the show. They'll find out fast they're not absorbing any new viewers and that they're losing the few old people they already have (who LOVE Harry Smith..). Content won't change.. Unless the producers are replaced, you'll still be seeing the same crap. A point I've been hired/paid to tell management at various stations for years and yet it won't go through their thick skulls. Like management, producers never truly change their ways, and if they do, they work their way back to the failing crap they've done previously.
