It might sound like a morning show, but "Channel 12 News Today" was KTVH's early evening broadcast in 1989. The big story: George H.W. Bush's visit to Helena.

It's weird that the "Nowhere Else" image campaign is obscure, when it was the basis for a First News package update.

Actually, wasn't there a copyright and/or performing-rights registration for "Nowhere Else News"? Was it ever actually syndicated as such before being rolled into First News? Any industry old-timers like promoguy98 possibly recall?

ewjxn’s got more goodies up his sleeve — from El Paso?!

That's a part of The News Image I haven't heard yet.

Here's some more whoppers from Daniel Cole:

A WMBD promo from the fall of 1996, just after they became CBS 31:

A tease from WEEK leads into the start of NBC's coverage of the 1984 DNC:

A rare CNN Headline News promo from WBLN:

The KDBC stuff is definitely new. We had nothing between 1980 (Home Country) and 1990.

The 1990 open is not in the NMSA and there's a reason why we have it in the first place — it's out of pitch and on a blooper reel!

We have a Sunday Sports Special open (partial) from 1987:

Kristyn Hartman was (and still is) so beautiful. She was almost unrecognizable on that excerpt.

I found a station ID from that period in 3D CGI demo reel, but I can't remember exactly what it was.

There are no words sufficient to describe the tracking on that second WMBD clip...

Except, perhaps, "time for a hearing aid".

I should have mentioned that. There are a number of videos with wonky sound and tracking. Still, it's a great channel none the less, am I right?

Don’t know why they never got posted, but here’s some KLAS promos and IDs voiced by that infamous unknown male voiceover — the station ID is the same one heard in the open on the NMSA. Wonder if this YouTuber has that actual open?

By 1991, they'd moved on to the squares look and plainer 4.

I went searching — while I couldn't get that reel, I found the guy that did WXII's TVbD knockoff from 1990 (and a ton of CBN/Family Channel stuff)...

WTOC's Eleventh Hour News in 1981:

I assume this was one of the last stations to use the "Eleventh Hour" title.

Post-World Series (Game 6) WCCO newscast from 1991:

A really corny Arizona Lottery promo from KTVK in 1990, showing the 1988/89 to 1993 lottery set with KGUN and KTVK balls on the set... This set was retired when The Pick became Lotto in 1993.

(We used to have a drawing on that set, but it disappeared with ctmikect's channel. Come back! Also, ewjxn seems to have the newscast from this date as he is posting commercials from it.)

And because it's corny, "This ain't no bull!" (The original Earnhardt's Auto Center shut down a decade ago and was redeveloped into a Lowe's, Circle K and some smaller shops.)

WHO in 1993. Its Live at Five used The Place to Be:
