onthesea 292 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 TVN's opener of its evening newscast from March 22, 1995 (begins at 0:29) I'm posting this because the theme used in the open (a very good one) is slightly different than the traditional one, introduced in 1996, seen in the video below beginning at 3:39. 3

bmasters1 413 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 May God bless his soul. Absolutely! Irv Weinstein was news in Buffalo (by which I mean, he was a shining example of a professional newscaster, at least IMO). 1

TServo2049 82 Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 That 7/4/86 KSDK update is interesting. When did the next theme debut? In the fall? I would assume that they would have rolled out the new graphics and music at the same time as the new NBC logo, but I don't actually know, because KSDK footage from that period is so scarce (despite someone out there having more video we haven't seen from the 80s, but they only ever post photos snapped off of a TV/monitor). The fact that NMSA still misdates this theme as 1981 when it most likely debuted some time in 1985 is a testament to how much of a black hole this period is. 5

compubit 675 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Why can’t Glendive TV look that good? Well, if you had the equivalent of NBC or CBS running the station as an O&O with standard graphics across all of the stations, it can be done... And in typical fashion, news has been cut from 30 minutes to 15 minutes - granted, SP&M have access to more of the RFO is run by France Télévisions (France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5, France Ô) - they're (IMHO) the 800-lb. Gorilla in French TV... J 1
TexasTVNews 1378 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Yesterday, Buffalo and Western New York had lost Irv Weinstein, now Atlanta has lost Amanda Davis. This in memory of Amanda. Our thoughts are with her family and her colleagues at FOX 5 (WAGA) and CBS 46 (WGCL) in this difficult time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=ahipdSW7fTQ;t=143 5
