It's good to see some rare news videos being shared on this post.

Here is one that is a rarity. From 1973, here are some clips from network television as recorded from Los Angeles TV.

Take note at 2:06 where the CBS Evening News is interrupted with a late news development concerning Richard Nixon. If I am not mistaken, this aired in portions of the West Coast.

Canal 13's opener of its 1pm newscast, taped in 2005.

Back then the broadcast focused on "news for the people" and "news you can use", and still had an important reputation because of its consumer segments and analysis.

And here's a promo for this newscast, also recorded in 2005.

BONUS: the music theme used between 2004 and 2007, composed by Eddie Sierra.

Tom Joles and Mari Bennett on KOB's "News 4 New Mexico" in June 1989, using the Otis Conner theme that may well have been written for them:

Thank you so much for encoding/uploading in 60 FPS. It makes a huge difference!

Just wanted to make sure it stays true to how it was presented back in the day. Too many channels don't take care of the videos well.

Got some rare WYMT goodies coming your way now.

First, here is a WYMT 6PM news open from 1987.

And second, here is the last news open used for WKYH-TV when they were NBC back in the 1980s.

But that's not all, here is a news open for the final WYMT newscast anchored by Tony Turner before his death.

But wait, there's more, here's a WYMT news intro from 2000.

The earliest instance of “Good evening, friends” found thus far.

1976, massive truck accident involving 7500 gallons of ammonia. It got reuploaded earlier in the month, but this case, you hear Dave teasing the “film stories” with Move Closer playing.

Already posted it.

Oops, didn’t get your notification on this one

Also those graphics were possibly done by Calico. They also did work for KREM and WPXI around the same period:

In other news, a tribute to the late, great Nick Michaels:
