  1. Past hour
  2. We need to investigate who decided "News on the Deuce" was a good idea and potentially file criminal charges.
  3. I don't ever advocate for a religious network to expand their activities of "praising the lord" via the airwaves...(except for maybe EWTN since it's tied to the Catholic Church itself) But in this case, it would be an improvement over the crap-fest that MeritTV is. Why would TBN ever sell their soul in such a way? Oh yeah, it's TBN. Such an odd mix of Dr. Phil, Nancy Grace, and whatever MMA fight is airing in between. And what does any of this have to do with Christianity? Shouldn't Oprah have put a stop to this decades ago? The next best thing is the CTN stations putting Newsmax2 on their subchannel feeds. I"ll stop here before I go ranting any more.
  4. Today
  5. David Muir was the only "lead" anchor to come in on a Saturday. (The other three were not leaving home on a Saturday night..I JOKE). In all seriousness, CBS seems to take a more interchangeable approach to their "lead" anchor during breaking news. For example, I've often seen Margaret Brennan take special reports, and even Nora O'Donnell was involved in coverage of the pope's funeral alongside John Dickerson instead of Maurice.
  6. I would feel sorry for him... if I could feel sorry for him.
  7. Maurice was anchoring the Special Report coverage for the Hegseth Pentagon Presser this morning... So there is that.
  8. Where were John, Maurice, and Tom?
  9. It was an accent color on its logo, it wasn't a primary color. Those were gray and blue.
  10. CBS did eventually do a long special report with Margaret Brennan anchoring. But it was interesting to see the BBC streaming simulcast, I had never seen them do that before.
  11. On the broadcasting side, both CBS and NBC stayed with their scheduled programming (48 Hours and Dateline, respectively....and both were years-old episodes, too) for the 9:00pm ET hour. I was flipping through channels at 10pm, and I'm pretty sure CBS was at least starting its second (49th?) hour of 48H, while NBC had switched to live coverage. (Fox broadcasting was airing the Mets-Phillies game, so they're excused, though it looks like they did cut to Fox News for Trump's speech.)
  12. It's as if it has.... [puts on sunglasses] ...no merit.
  13. It’s a pretty significant breaking news story this evening and CBS is phoning it in.
  14. I'm getting the feeling there should be more competition for weather networks. Both Fox Weather and The Weather Channel suck balls.
  15. More changes to the Weekend News today: Today's edition was anchored from the regular Evening News set instead of the other set they had been using. Wonder if this will be permanent or not... They've also changed the L3s that appear during stories to match the ones used by the Evening News, although slightly modified to appear to the right of the logo bug at the bottom (the logo at the top left is also a new addition):
  16. I haven't seen them do this before, perhaps someone else has. CBS News 24/7 is simulcasting BBC's Iran strike coverage just as NBC News Now is simulcasting Sky News UK. After 9PM ET, ABC News is the only major US network that was breaking into programming as far as I've seen.
  17. Yesterday
  18. I think Dr. Phil is realizing how hard it is to run such a network like this. His flagship program is on pause, the evening news is on pause, and 40 employees laid off again. Merit TV seems to be in such financial trouble. Not to mention the backlash against airing all those ICE raids. https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/local/tarrant-county/dr-phil-primetime-summer-hiatus-layoffs/287-d79bc36e-f954-4325-885a-668e5457892b
  19. Australia Some viewers in regional South Australia and New South Wales could see the Seven Network go away thanks to an expiring contract with WIN.
  20. With Pete Delkus celebrating 20 years at WFAA, he gets to reunite with a Texas sports icon.
  21. Orange could be pulled off if it was well-executed. The best example IMHO was WKYC's second HD package they had until they picked up the Gannett package in 2008. Same with purple. The TVbD masterpieces of the 1980s are the prime example.
  22. I mean KWGN was ahead of its time back in 2009. They had the orange look on its graphics and CW logo during their Deuce era
  23. It looks like Fox Weather stopped the Chill stream a few days ago. It was kind of fun to watch again for a few minutes with the whole relaxing vibe but I imagine with the graphics and data it’s probably a ton of work to keep it updated. Nice try again though Fox Weather.
  24. I was actually thinking the same after I posted my comment. Not only is it spacious in that atrium, but it has a nice, massive picture window view of some of the urban landscape of that area, as well. That atrium reminds me of the upper floor studio across town that had a gigantic picture window view overlooking Columbus Circle that television productions have used over the years.
  25. As someone who used to work in a few different medical facilities, I enjoyed the free lunches!
  26. I hate to bring up a 2018 post but since then, she started a company with her husband. But now, instead of saying goodbye to a TV news career and a hello to a new business, she'll possibly instead say hello to a prison cell. Found guilty on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud but found not guilty on four counts of wire fraud. In Arizona, that one count could mean 20 years in federal prison for Hockridge and three years of supervised release. She finds out at sentencing on October 10th. Her fiancé will stand trial in August for the same charges. https://www.abc15.com/news/local-news/investigations/blueacorn-ex-news-anchor-found-guilty-of-conspiracy-not-guilty-on-other-charges?fbclid=PAQ0xDSwLDIbBleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABp-cPVF_Sr9e2BRP3CPQL66Uzs7jl2RNKRg9qJGljSEEJOAiuWRKVDC706nWZ_aem_YtX2zJFdO9zFPWIrah9K7Q
  27. The newer packages from Nexstar within the past 2-3 years are presentation-wise more modern looking than the repetitive CBS/ABC/NBC looks the stations have had for years now. The KOIN package (MOD-1) is OK, not the best IMO but I do like the customization for WFNA and KRCW. I do agree though, some MG packages are definitely better than the old packages Nexstar has.
  28. Define "good".
