I think in this instance that Local 10 is the branding of the channel, and World News is the name of the broadcast on Local 10.

WDIV Announces Plans to open Coffee Shop, TV Studio
Dave Lampstein replied to ns8401's topic in General TV
Kind of an interesting idea. I really didn't care for the entirely AI-written article about their own endeavor though... it has hallmarks of ChatGPT throughout which feels really lazy. -
I will say at least the new set will help with the seamless transition between "local 10 news" and "local 10 world news"
-
So they're going the WJXT route when they first went Independent and had Eyewitness World News for a short time. However, they may also look to KHON's Hawaii's World Report for some inspiration.

Interesting concept. Seems like it's an idea they should have tried decades ago as lifestyle programming ...cough cough "pay for play" and online interactivity was beginning to take off. -

What do you got to lose? Better to try something unique to spark energy and fail, than try nothing new and fail anyway. -
Clever, just can’t unsee the oxymoron of “Local” 10 “World” News The network evening newscasts are heavy on feature style human interest reporting, curious how their ABC World News audience will respond to this version
-
WPLG is launching their version of World News on August 4th.

I agree. With all the cuts in television, this is what they decide to spend their money on? I don’t see this lasting a year. It won’t attract viewers, if that’s what they’re hoping for.

WDIV Announces Plans to open Coffee Shop, TV Studio
Georgie56 replied to ns8401's topic in General TV
I think it's a good idea. Local TV news needs all the help it can get, and this is a very innovative way of doing it. This'll help viewers have a more personal connection with WDIV. Also, the article mentions that WDIV is moving production of their daily lifestyle show there. -
Just wanted to share this for the fans of long credit closes; it's 4th of July hiatus time for the show, so this morning's Kelly & Mark was a blended repeat of several interviews with the last segments cut (i.e. Fall Fitness Week or New Year/New You) when they were still in the old studio, but appropriately the first shot in this was of the view from atop Iger, so I thought I'd fit it in here since the network/WABC usually don't linger for long on skycam network shots. Plus we rarely get to hear the full show theme these days. Enjoy!

First of all, this is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Secondly, are things so profitable with Sean McLaughlin at Graham that they can afford to do this? - Yesterday

It was a live news event. I'm sure Carr will not investigate airing what trump says, considering he is his puppet.

The same is true for Studio A (Live with Kelly & Mark), Studio B (View/Tamron), and Studio 4i (WNN/GMA First Look). Part of the Channel 7 studio floor is also made of LED. The new ESPN studios (Studio 1 and Studio Y) have traditional floors.

Broadcast networks are going to likely show their restraint during the daytime. If it's live, then the president should know better and no station should be penalized for a fleeting remark of his. Cable news is free to broadcast it as they please since they're not subject to FCC guidelines. They just show restraint with the "7 deadly words" but can air them. Even some of the movie networks like IFC are starting to air uncut movies with the profanity intact.

In case you were all wondering why the fast track to get CBS out of 1515, we know now; Paramount is trying to get out of the lease so Caesars can put a casino in the building.

Assuming they receive a complaint at all, they can “investigate” it until no one cares, which in today’s world is about 7.1 seconds. They don’t need to do anything unless they see an opening to needle someone they deem antagonistic to the dear leader and feel like they can make said antagonist a scapegoat. Under no circumstances would they criticize the person who uttered the words in this scenario. But were it to be uttered by anyone on the enemies list, rest assured they will spring into action at the first complaint received. If they even wait that long.

Not here to debate the President’s use of the F-bomb, but don’t we have audio delays on live coverage for this very reason? Linked CSPAN, but scrolling TikTok, other news outlets aired the word uncensored as well. how does the FCC handle a violation by the guy who appoints them? v15044gf0000d1d8pcvog65muqnu3v3g.mp4 v24044gl0000d1d8dkfog65vdh5rj7mg.mp4

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion
MediaZone4K replied to ABC 7 Denver's topic in Corporate Chat
In his blog, Frank Macek, a Senior Broadcast Director at Tegna's WKYC, questions the relevance of local network affiliations. Despite his expected propping of his station, interesting points were made. https://wkycdirectorscut.blogspot.com/2025/06/franks-take-do-local-tv-stations-still.html?m=1- 3704 replies

It’s why ABC will always remain number #1 even with all the changes that have happened with the move to there new building and everything, they’ve remained consistent.

Jeff Hogan teaming up with Yolanda Harris makes good business sense, because Jeff had been on 10TV since the late 90s. Good move to 10TV.
