Yeah I’ll try to grab a screen image of it next time if I remember. It ends with Shirleen, Brittany, Sam and Heather standing in front on the old set. It preciously included Mike.
-
Have they? I’ve seen the one where they edited him out and it’s just Shirleen and the crew, and then there’s other ones “recapping” the show from the day, with the team and whoever is in that seat, usually Pedro
-
They’ve also been running the morning promos with Mike Marza edited out. I would have figured they had the AM succession plans all sorted by now.
-
WABC's uncertainty about its weekend morning anchor is creating some very unlikely and interesting pairings.
-
Their studios are not in Paterson. They are in Teaneck at the Glenpointe Corporate Center, not far from the GWB.
-
Something you don’t see too often (or ever?) - Liz Cho filling in with Toni Yates for this Sunday morning’s newscast.
-
Now thats some extreme pettiness there. I rate NY1 over News 12 anyways especially nowadays since News12 is barely a newschannel now. I feel for the Cablevision subbers...

Lester Holt stepping down from NBC Nightly News

Lowkey starting to think and I talked about this in a Reddit forum but I got my first tv job when I was in college and I dropped out. I’m starting to think you don’t need a degree for journalism or at least you don’t have to study it, some of the best journalist didn’t even study it they studied another genre than went into journalism. For example Tom Brokaw studied political science not journalism, I’m not saying going to school for journalism is important I’m not saying that but obviously people have back doored their way into TV News. Another example people have back doored there way into tv weather apparently you can get a metrology certificate (which is a degree without the Gen Eds) from Miss State and do the AMS exam and become a metrologist I’d didn’t know that I thought you had to get the 4 year degree. Even Al Roker didn’t go to school for metrology he majored in communications to be a journalist, he in a way back doored his way to weather. Again not saying j-school isn’t important that of course that’s traditional way but some journalist I’ve watched didn’t take that route. -
Maybe WXTV will move to NYC from there Patterson, New Jersey studios.

IMHO: WNBC and WABC's new newsrooms HAVE STEPPED UP THEIR GAME. It makes WCBS, WNYW, WPIX, and WXTV's newsrooms appear inferior by comparison (I'm not sure I've seen the newsrooms of either NY1 or News 12). To me, WNBC and WABC's newsrooms look like the future of television news and where its heading today... adapting to everything, including streaming.

The old newsroom & the new newsroom at NBC4 & Telemundo47.

The Pacers won tonight and won the series in six. This means that the last-ever Inside the NBA episode (on TNT proper before its move to ESPN/ABC next season) is airing now.
- Yesterday

With that, the last of the NBC/Telemundo building divides (in terms of main operations) has finally closed. NYC was the last market where the NBC (30 Rock) and Telemundo (Fort Lee, N.J.) stations were in separate places.

Warner-Chappell, which owns the rights to the original Hello package, composed this new series of themes, effectively Hello News v.2 (or Series 5, if you want to go by how Gari called their theme updates). Chris Majka composed a custom theme using the Hello signature that debuted last year, alongside selected cuts from Gari’s first three Hello series (the ones KWQC brought back in 2023 for their 75th anniversary).

Nice, it's Fox Weather Daylight! Do we know why they were not live on a weekday? Were they just airing pre-recorded weather programming from a few hours prior, or...?
-
-
Should that happen again, they could use WCAU/WWSI in Philadelphia as backup if all else fails or keep cameras in the NJ Bureau just in case.
-
It'll certainly be interesting to see the new Scripps group graphics and music package introduced to the other Scripps group stations (including WEWS, WCPO, WPTV, WRTV, WTVF, KMGH, KTNV, etc.). I could see this throwing a hint to competing groups like Tegna and Hearst, if any of them are mulling over new graphics and music packages for their stations.

Big changes at WIFR Rockford: Chief Meteorologist Mark Henderson is out after 22 years. https://www.rockrivercurrent.com/2025/05/mark-henderson-chief-meteorologist-at-wifr-out-after-22-years-in-rockford-tv/ Also, Andy Gannon is retiring August 1st after a 42-year run. Mike Garrigan is moving from evenings to mornings to replace him. https://www.adweek.com/tvspy/andy-gannon-to-retire-from-wifr-in-rockford-after-more-than-42-years/

Those are quite impressive.

Technically that was RenderON specifically for WPTV. I doubt corporate had much say in that and it was before the days of standardization. But I still agree and it's one of my favorites.
-
Agreed. I like the second ones more except for the flying box. The Brown graphics admittedly were not the best but I maintain that they were still more imaginative and lively than what we have now. EDIT: This is perhaps the best thing **a Scripps station ever had graphically**... ScreenRecording_05-31-2025 11-49-48_1.mov

Anyone know where in 30 Rock this is? It has a lot of the exposed building supports and reminds me of the MSNBC 4th floor space (which they will be vacating at some point). It was hard to tell from their balcony area. The 3rd floor is full of studios (MSNBC, WNBC, WNJU, NBC News Now).... I would assume the floorspace at the Fletcher Ave. studios in Fort Lee will be reduced for the bureau (WNBC's NJ bureau has been there for years). The building included the original CNBC studios, America's Talking which became MSNBC prior to their moves to Secaucus (MSNBC) and Englewood Cliffs (CNBC). The Secaucus studio is now MLB Network but they will be moving in a few years as well, to Elmwood Park NJ. I'm assuming MSNBC ruled out the former Fort Lee T47 space, even temporarily after the spin off.
