1. Doubtful they are definitely going to hire someone from outside the Seattle area to fill the left over anchor chair a result of the shuffling.

 2. Well I don't think FOX needs spectrum auction cash like some others do, and I would fester a guess that the viewership via the cable channel is much greater then the sub-channel would be. My guess is they are just going to "dual image" KTVU and KICU. Not more news or really anything different. Just more consolidation in graphics and places where you can save money. Somebody elsewhere floated the thought that it may be a news intensive thing. Right now there is no indication of that in any way, shape or form. It will not be the new home of the KTVU Castaways.

 3. I guess that makes sense as they bought out their contract and I assume they start early retirement?

 4. With the right approach and good writers, they could turn the cameras on themselves since the product is soooo bad ..that it's funny in some cases. On second thought... They would screw that up also.

 5. I wonder if anybody from other Seattle stations will come to KING. Marni Hughes from Q13FOX would do well in the early evening newscasts.

 6. The smaller stations I would assume would not be hit as hard as they likely have far less in the way of tenured talent...

 7. The one to replace Linda at 4pm should have been Sylvia Perez! In fact, they should have Sylvia return and be on with Linda at 4pm to replace Alan.

 8. Go ahead and add KGW 8's Joe Becker to the list of TEGNA employees taking the early retirement buyout packages.

 9. They banked on TV ad revenues continuing to grow. I'd almost say their bet paid off, considering the election season this is turning out to be.

 10. Compared to the 90s they aren't. KSDK and KMOV always used to be neck and neck in the ratings and usually KSDK was the winner more often than KMOV was. That changed in the mid 2000's as mismanagement drove the station further down in the ratings allowing KMOV to establish a more solid foothold as the dominant station in the market. Now that KMOV is starting to be mismanaged, both KSDK and KTVI are taking advantage of the situation and now all 3 stations are in a deadheat. From what I heard, Mike Bush was also eligible for the buyout. Some reason he didn't take it, I guess since he's the lead anchor he feels he's in a good spot there. BTW: Here is video of the announcement they made during Friday's 6pm newscast: http://www.ksdk.com/weather/announcement-from-cindy-and-mike/135678263

 15. Could work but remember with Greg's current schedule he's anchoring at 4 & 9 on KING & KONG as well as 7 pm on NWCN. So if they kept the way it is now Danielle would do the same identical schedule as Greg. Also interesting to note Greg was anchoring mornings this week while Danielle was on in the evening'

 16. http://www.seattletimes.com/entertainment/tv/jean-enerson-jeff-renner-among-king-5-staffers-taking-retirement-offers/ Article from the Seattle Times states some anchors will be shuffled around as well as reporters and expect some new hires. My guess is Greg moves to 5, 6:30, 7, 10 & 11; Mark moves from mornings to 4, 7 on NWCN and 9 and a new hire takes Mark's spot in the mornings. Or maybe Danielle Leigh moves to Greg's spot who knows.

 17. I knew Lester was a front runner at one tie but for some reason I thought David Gregory wa for awhile? It seem like during Ann year (And maybe Meredith last year?) as co-anchor and Savannah First Year David was. But at one time there was talk that Gregory could take over for Matt. Lester was a front runner at one time you are right about that. It was during the last few years that Katie Couric was the show and during Meredith time that Lester was front runner but over the last several years he came to be considered the front runner to replace Brian Williams on Nightly News more then being thought as Matt main successor. In fact during Savannah first year David Gregory filled in more then Lester. David wasn't very good on MTP to be honest (although he better then Chuck I will say) but he was very good on TODAY Show I always thought. I do agree Lester always did a good job when he filled in. He work great with Katie, Meredith and Ann.
