  2. When will Meredith ever cut their losses here? I'm thinking CBS still hangs on to WUPA so they can either take back their network one day or buy WGCL....

  3. That's a good point to make. For example all three stations in the Hampton Roads area own a Doppler radar system, but none of them have operated it on a regular basis since the mid 2000's, instead relying on NWS radar (and branding it as their own).

  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=h3CDhmOgwls;t=34 Does anyone know who did the WCCO 1993 theme? IMO it had some aural similarities to the Michael Randall KCBS theme that replaced it... Other soundalikes: "Clearly to the Point" (OnTrack Productions) and the KCEN cuts of "Strong" (Peters Productions)

  5. Was this WAVY image promo a VTS composition? It debuted with the 1985 theme that's been confirmed as VTS, and sounds like it has ties to the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL-Iw7wbXjY

  6. They also did the 4. Frankly, I don't know why they didn't give Cheryl Burton the night off, since she only did the 5. I wonder if they dragged in Jerry to only do the 10.

  7. Well, I must say, that is one badass newsroom clock. It's like a timekeeper's and decorator's wet dream.

  10. Its 5:00. That open is great. Fits in great with everything the other stations are doing.

  11. I can't believe I'm giving them credit for something, but WFLD has made some changes to their set over the last few years that don't make it totally awful. It's not even the worst in the market.

  12. you mean like WAGA or perhaps maybe WTXF? the few O&Os that still use their old set is WNYW, WJBK and WFLD.

  13. Well good for Ben. I always liked him. He should do well in Bean Town. It seems like Boston is finding a liking to picking NY Talents. It almost seems like the talent that are being underutilized in their respective area. Side note: Every time I open the WNYW thread, I hope its for them getting a new set. This thread is such a tease :D:D

  14. That would only work if one of their "notables" would return too - Maury Povich, Ray Murray, Richard Bey, or even Jerry Penacoli.
