  1. By chance are they going to reanimate Dorothy Fuldheim, Bill Bonds, and/or Al Schottelkotte?

  2. I guess you missed this gem in the article... News director Chris Kline, who has orchestrated the newsroom overhaul, said each one of the station’s newscasts was up in the July ratings book, a significant feat for a station whose news programming typically ranked third in the market a year or so ago. The July book??? LOL! That's like "graduating" from the 6th grade.... At least somebody cares about the July book. Great spin Chris Kline... Hilar. You still have a TV station ya moron...how many DOLLARS are each of those Facebook friends worth??? Come on Chris...give me a solid dollar figure for our power point demo. How much is each "like" worth?

  3. I have. For the past several months. During their "40 For 40" livestream event, one of the producers (not sure which occupation) revealed that the ribbons are getting revamped as so they'll stretch ro down the street the Studios are on. In fact, I mentioned this several pages back on this thread. No one picked on that.

  4. WOIO's GM will be resigning at the end of the month. http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/8/15/cleveland-gm-out I guess the rebrand to Cleveland 19 didn't go so well

  5. I'll admit, I missed that.

  6. My last point about this.. Berra does that where ever he goes. It seem like Wexler didn't care as long as WTMJ brought in $$. The last year or so of their leadership everything went down hill and Journal had to make changes fast. Even though the executives in Cincinnati have made some questionable moves, Janet has made WTMJ's newscasts respectable again.

  7. wexler was responsible just as much as berra was for allowing berra's cockamamie franchise ideas to destroy the station's integrity. "speedbusters"?? "dirty dining"?? and dont forget how he would allow stories to be sensationalized to the point they'd get sued over them... anyways it's not wtmj that's changing... i will say the biggest thing people on here will have a problem with is the new logo for the station that is rebranding... not good...

  8. Does anyone else think Hayes comes off as an arrogant try-hard? He acts like he's a young guy (he's only 37!) that knows he's made it big on cable news with his own show and like he's the next thing since Cronkite. Hell he's had his own show since he was only 32. Seems like he's had a very very very lucky career.

  9. I think it's a good move, I find it absurd that most of the networks go to taped programming at 11pm ET/8pm PT.

  10. MSNBC is reportedly going to give Brian Williams a half-hour show at 11pm through Election Day. http://money.cnn.com/2016/08/15/media/brian-williams-msnbc-time-slot/index.html They seem to be testing the waters by having him host late in the evening, following the primetime lineup. Could this be a precursor to him becoming a daily program? We'll see...

  11. Cleveland 19 is a mess. Their triple digit-market stations have put on a better product than WOIO has put on post-Action-News. Given Cleveland's size, I would hope that it puts something on the level of WBTV or WVUE. Part of the problem seems to be the number of anchor teams, as they simply have TOO MANY ANCHORS to begin with! Hopefully they can hit the reset button in the post-Dick Goddard era and put a little more ACTION into their product. As former "Dirty Dining" reporter Scott Taylor used to say....they need to "CLEEEAN UP!!!!!"

  12. Congrats to Bob on his amazing career at WGN. Hard to believe him and Jackie have been paired together for over 20 years. Had Roseanne Tellez stayed on weekends (and at WGN), her and Bob would have been pushing closer to/at 25 years together (if I remember correctly). And had WFLD not pushed Bryon Harlen and Nancy Pender out the door, they would have celebrated 20 yrs. together next year. I can't say who should succeed Bob, but those are some big shoes to fill no doubt. Hopefully they just add a hr. to the weekend morning newscast (5-7A) and leave it at that. No need to go crazy.

  13. Scripps is touting it's "success" at putting digital/social media first at KNXV (which you may recall included replacing the news director with the station's digital director). http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/local-tv/scripps-phoenix-station-thinks-digital-overhaul-newsroom-operations/158819 There's no mention of how this affected ratings, but at least they have 50,000 more fans on Facebook...
