  1. Over in Market #42 -- ABC13 News Now/WVEC adds an new fifth meteorologist (first in market, IIRC) and shuffles the weekend team around: New Meteorologist Crystal Harper takes over Weekend Daybreak duties while the previous Weekend Daybreak meteorologist Iisha Scott moves to weekend evenings. Cool note: Crystal jumped from the Cheyenne market (#192) to take the job....(thanks Bob/VARTV for that tidbit), and is a former USAF meteorologist and is now a Naval reservist. Evan Stewart, the former weekend evening meteorologist since the 1990s, received a promotion to Sr. Meteorologist and Director of Weather Content, and is now the primary 4pm Meteorologist, and is Jeff's primary fill-in for the later newscasts.

  2. For the weekday morning newscasts they still use the video wall for the quick forecast at the top of the hour and half hour. They also use it for the traffic reports on the 4's.

  6. NMSA added a WSB news open from 1980, listed separately from "2 Steps Ahead". It appears there was definitely a theme change in 1979, based on this snippet: The first five seconds appears to be the tail end of a midday newscast, with "1979" on the chyron. I just wonder, is this the same theme as "2 Steps Ahead" or a different theme altogether?

  7. I hate to be the guy that links to another thread for this topic - but here's one I started. It appears it's also the one where Scott got his info from. I hope he doesn't think that the rendering in the article is what the newset will look like.
