  1. It could be part of Colleen's contract to have a supporting role during the holidays. But Colleen has done special reports in the past for NBC News. She anchored breaking news coverage during the 96 Olympics.

  4. When I flipped past MSNBC shortly after news broke of Fidel Castro's death, they had KNBC's Colleen Williams anchoring from the LA bureau. I know it was late on the Friday night of a holiday weekend, but how did the entire NBC News/MSNBC global organization not have anyone at the network level ready to go on camera?

  5. Gotta love social media blunders... In other words, if you're on the clock and doing something you probably shouldn't be, don't be stupid and tweet about it...

  6. It's not an overreaction to hold so-called 'Journalist" to the "Ethics" they claim to subscribe to...or to have studied and fully understood . How about we give these Social Media Queens a basic test in Journalism and Ethics, instead of a piss / drug test as a condition of employment? These idiots were fired for all the right reasons. 8. This is the same graphics package that was used by WBNS c. 1983-84. WPMT also used it, it shows up on this DX'ed ID that TechnerVideo/PhilaVideo uploaded years ago: I have a stack of old Millimeter back issues, and one of them (February 1983) has an ad for Calico, where one of the featured stills is of the WBNS intro. So it appears that Calico was responsible for this animation package.

  9. WGN wouldn't use their own mic flags because they don't produce/control the parade. The Chicago Festival Association runs it with WGN/WGN America serving as the TV partner/sponsor only.

  10. WEWS' new logo is so bad....I'm still seeing the old one EVERYWHERE!! Mic flags, break slates, reporter jackets...even their Roku app still has it and is STILL called NewsChannel 5! It's like they're not even trying...

  12. It's possible that ratings are a factor. WEWS seems to blow up "Good Morning Cleveland" every 12-18 months. If it weren't for WOIO/WUAB, they would be dead last.

  13. He left on his own. Greater anchoring and/or investigative opportunities weren't available to him at ABC 7, so he decided against an extension. Feder speculates that NBC 5 and WGN could be destinations, but not until after the new year. Perhaps WMAQ is about to finally get a 4pm co-anchor? http://www.robertfeder.com/2016/10/31/ben-bradley-leaves-abc-7-new-opportunity/
