  1. Katie Couric will fill in as co-anchor of TODAY during the week of January 2. The last time Couric hosted a morning show was for a week in April 2012, filling in for Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. 2. The logo looks fairly decent, with its retro 80's vibe to it. Even on a bad logo making day, it's still miles better than WEWS 5 or Cox's FOX25 Boston logo...... Sadly, it pains me to say all that considering it's a "Morris 'The Cat' Communications" station.

  3. If there were a real life Quagmire out there, he would look almost exactly like this creep.

  4. Exactly. You answered your own question!

  5. Why not February? That's sweeps month. Although, I do believe Today's White house show this year was in January.

  6. Well heck yes... The incoming prez has shown that he really doesn't need the media to get his message out to the public. Trump payed the media like a fiddle...and thus the cash poor media has become irreverent in the eyes of many. Are the TV ownership rules really a giant priority for the incoming admin in say the first 200 days?

  8. WJAR had a malfunction during dateline commercial breaks. they were showing a WBFF commercial instead of a WJAR commercial for a brief second. another one occurred at WBFF where one of the monitors on the news would show their FOX 45 logo glitching green lines during weather. i wonder if Sinclair knows about these Issues.

  11. Two-thirds of WLS 6pm newscast, January 1999. With how rare late-90's stuff is from the station, it's a shame the open is incomplete:

  12. I feel that him not being able to compete against NN is a rumor. I've read it nowhere else but here In this thread.

  13. 1990s WEAR too. They used the same italicized "3" for their news based off their now-former logo.

  14. Part of Andrew Lack's plan to rehab Brian Williams image. It won't work cause he is already a laughtng stock and Fox News continues to kick their ass.

  15. Exactly....well said eat.... there is bound to be some turbulent and choppy waters ahead for the media... Some folks can't seem to read between the lines. There's a reason why Sin***** is trying to cuddle and cozy up. I have a feeling it'll work for some, but not some great for other players. All in all, it may not be a fair process. haaaa

  16. Watch them shimmy around and make a way to "lease" or otherwise run these stations without "technically" holding the licenses, until the deal gets settled one way or the other. That will happen before January 20th, my prediction. Contrary to what a lot of the media keeps repeating in their echo chamber, the incoming administration isn't the biggest fan of concentrated media and the taking away of market voices/perspective. Could be a very rough time for SOME of the media companies, over the coming months, than is being let on.

  18. How shocking. I was hoping that Whoopi or Joy would call her out on air before they left on break, but they probably were told to stay quiet. This isn't the first time she's brought up Barbara wanting to come back and fix the show... As for her... does she conveniently forget all those rumors on her when she was still on the Early Show??? How she was hard to work with, etc.??? Where would she be at if she wasn't boning Moonves? Definitely not on The View...

  20. Looks like the Chen-bot is trying to stir up rumors. She was on WATCH WHAT HAPPENS LIVE with Andy Cohen and she said she believed the report in PAGE SIX (apparently the most credible news source) that Barbara Walters was not happy with the turnover and that she would call in to the control room and that they would laugh off her suggestions. She also said THE VIEW should be cancelled. Jealous a bit? THE VIEW most recently outperformed THE TALK in the ratings in overall audience and all the major demographics (http://www.hollywoodtake.com/view-canceled-despite-cast-changes-and-julie-chens-scathing-comments-abc-talk-show-still-215341). Does she not realize almost every job she's had at CBS is because of her husband because she is otherwise a complete borefest who lacks personality (as do some of her cohosts like Sara)? Does she not realize that THE TALK was not an original concept, but a copycat of THE VIEW?

  21. Reminds me a lot of WOAY (ABC Beckley/Bluefield WV)'s logo before the DT switch.

  22. I seriously don't know why WOIO doesn't go on WUAB 43.3 for those outside of WOIO's range. Move Grit to 19.3 and then run 43.3 in 720p (or even 1080i if possible).

  23. And Nexstar & MG are still waiting for the FCC greenlight. Here's a write-up from the B&C yesterday (12/20). At this rate, they might as well wait until after the auction is over. Nexstar had deals that lasted longer than this. The ComCorp deal lasted 20 months. So they can wait.
