That's awesome! I'm gonna try my hand at a mock-up of this later on. I think it'll be a cool-looking logo if it does end up getting used, much better than the current one that replaced the old "W6N" looking logo (not that the current one is bad in any way, but this would be a nice upgrade and I kind of like the retro look, and it'd also go along with their affiliates KTLA and PIX11 using somewhat retro logo styles). EDIT: Made my own mock-up of what this might have looked like. Thanks, Spring Rubber, for the description of this. Hope it's close to what they obviously accidentally showed off too early.

The city is bad outside of downtown... but you have to understand that 4.8 million of the 5.5 million or so in the viewing area don't live in the city... things are quite alright in the burbs thank you... so it's a complete misconception people who aren't from the area have about it...

Ever since the Comcast takeover in 2011-2012ish, WCAU's brand has been hard news. I don't feel like Tracy, Vai, and Jessica going live in Wawa takes anything away from the substance of the newscast. They still had Rosemary doing most of the morning newscast in the studio and checking in after news, weather, and traffic. The morning newscast has gone on location, DNC and the Inauguration, and they had someone in home base doing the rest of the newscast.

KLFY has now added a news ticker, along with sponsor bug & new time/temp/logo bug (this screenshot is from their 5p newscast)....

They couldn't if they also acquire Tribune, since that deal alone would put them over the cap, let alone anything beyond that.

Is this a prelude of Altice buying the cable systems?

Chicagos Best is getting a spinoff of sorts. S.E.E. Chicago (Shopping, Entertainment and Events) is gonna air at 1030pm Sundays starting this weekend on WGN. Some nutritionist/author/reality show veteran named Dawn Jackson Blatner hosts.

Not sure if any of the former Media General station have gotten this upgrade, or already have a news ticker of some kind....

No it just seems like an odd thing to do - broadcast from a WaWa? I thought WCAU was going a more serious tone and then they do this. Just seems like something their sales department dreamed up.
