  1. Something must have happened 1 minute into the news Allison Rosati said we will be right back after a quick break

  2. This morning on Good Day Greg and Rosanna joked about how outdated the set was.. They were tossing to weather and Rosanna says well just look out the window behind us.. Greg looks and goes we really need a new one of these things.. it's missing a whole building. Though it was funny even they pointed it out

  3. He said he was coming from WJLA; there's an NC8 set there overused by all of SBG's must-carry segments and shows, including Armstrong William's weekend graveyard filler between Made in Hollywood and a real show called 3 Wide Life (at least in Milwaukee). He thinks it's impressive he's coming from Washington, but I'd be more impressed if a Sinclair host filmed a must-carry from KIMA in Yakima or one of their lower-market stations. This is what literal 'fake news' is. Of course ratings are going to be up if you replace infomercials and E/I treacle (which Full Measure did) with a series with actual content. The painful 'this new show is up 400% over last year's time-slot filler, a test pattern' press releases are good for a laugh and little else.

  5. She's been the one following most of the leads on that story ... "doggedly" as Rob Vaughn said

  6. They were not only on top of their game today - but way ahead of the curve with a live shot from Philly with Jamie Stover at the Federal Courthouse. GREAT JOB !!!

  7. Nexstar has renew its affiliation agreement with Fox in all 31 markets, through the end of 2019 (Why so short?)

  8. They why is WSYX a McStation? They have more than enough red viewers outside of the blue inner city (which IS the largest city in Ohio, mind you). WKRC, to be blunt about it, got a special look to differentiate themselves from WKEF/WRGT in nearby Dayton. And when Sinclair folds KSTU into KUTV, KSTU will get the McStation look.

  9. WTVJ's 11am show in 1991... What were they thinking pairing this music with such a light theme? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=iSPvj9F6VAI;t=102 And a rare 1974 promo with Ralph Renick and Joan Hall:

  10. My Grandpa lived in a double wide for a few years. He would get pissed if we called it a "trailer". He would always say... "It's a coach"! Then he would hit us and say... "Go play on the 405...the 405 FREEWAY!"

  13. until somebody else takes over the job. It seems like being a news director at both WOIO/CBS 19 & WGCL/CBS46 should come with a warning sign. DANGER! Do This Job At Your Own Risk!

  14. Stella Thurkill was one of my anchors when I worked at KTKA in Topeka. I had no idea she still worked in TV news. That's pretty good longevity for a female on-air talent. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/7/26/out-the-door-in-billings

  15. Even still, you're hard pressed to find a legitimate moderate on either party. They've been deeply calcified over the past few decades and will continue to do so.

  16. Going off a post on the WLNE 1993 theme... Maybe Doppler could also be responsible for the KWTV 1993 theme? *shrug*

  17. Ahhh! I love this theme. If I remember right, the one on the NMSA may have had slightly different graphics, but I can't remember because it's been so long since I've seen the clip. Maybe it was from later in '93. Speaking of KWTV, it looks like they may have been using "Going Global" by FirstCom in 1994, or a variant thereof...

  18. In all fairness to Sinclair, a 0.8 rating at midnight on a Sunday in a sleeper market is nothing to sneeze at--and the numbers it's getting in Vegas and Austin, of all places, are quite good.

  19. It's opinion pieces on both sides. Both side are preaching doom and gloom. and..... Both are in the business to entertain and/or scare you....all for a profit. So enjoy!

  20. It's one thing to keep viewers aware of what's going on in the world with things like ISIS and stuff like that, it's another to create a segment with ominous looking graphics and music to instill fear into your viewers into thinking that Trump is the only one that can protect them. And as Oliver pointed out, the fact that they use stories about the burka ban in France which has absolutely nothing to do with terrorism just shows how the segment is supposed to just be that "Muslims are scary". That said, seems like Sinclair stations will be seeing more of him as they have increased the number of must run segments from 3 to 9. I'm sure the fact his Administration is plunging deeper into a crisis as this decision was made is a complete coincidence. That said, it doesn't seem wise to add segments from someone who is Russian as the Administration you're backing is involved in a controversy over how close its ties to Russia are. http://thehill.com/homenews/media/341336-sinclair-boosting-airtime-for-former-trump-official-epshteyn

  21. I've heard KMBC has plucked WGAL's News Director for their open ND job (another Hearst-to-Hearst transfer). That seems like it would be a good get, considering how well WGAL performs.
