1. Edited from C.M. Sloan's original post, a clip from then-ABC (now Fox) affiliate WVUE's 6 PM newscast. Recorded June 7, 1994. Again from CM Sloan, the complete WWL-TV Eyewitness News Nightwatch from June 7, 1994. Also from CM Sloan, the first 7 minutes of WDSU's 10 PM news from June 7, 1994. Taken from an overnight rebroadcast.

 3. Sometimes you strike gold. That's an article from 1996 on David Miller (aka David Miller Music), a KTVK employee who apparently wrote the themes the station debuted in 1995: "Miller's Channel 3 playlist includes theme songs for Good Morning Arizona (sung by local country entertainer Ray Herndon), Good Evening Arizona (sung by Molly Molten, a former Channel 3 correspondent) and the new Tonight Arizona (sung by Los Angeles-based studio pro Mark Campbell). Yet the composer calls Channel 3's longtime promotional theme, Arizona's Family, "by far the most important I've ever written. That song is about everybody I work with, and it really means something to me," said Miller, whose father, Bill, is Channel 3's general manager." He also did graphic design work for the stations. Apparently the KTVK circle 3 was known around the station as the "meatball". KASW is explicitly mentioned and I'm led to think the NewsNight theme (1995-97) is from him too. He's now a partner in MagicDust Television, the producer of RightThisMinute and worthy of the title "spiritual successor to KTVK's glory days".

 4. I would think if you're leaving the #1 station and what was likely pretty hefty pay check you'd have everything 1000% set in stone first. I'm sure she knows where she's going

 5. It was fascinating to note that Lori Stokes and Sandra Bookman were paired for the very first time last week on the anchor desk. How is it possible that they haven't worked together in nearly 20 years?

 8. Yikes, Rob's been through a lot. That's terrifying when the original treatment plan doesn't work.

 9. Does anyone have any tangible proof which station is in what place in Phoenix beyond supposition or assumptions? For all we know, KPNX is rising in the ratings by taking a tabloid approach.

 11. Damn. This does suck. He was great on GMA when they actually let him on TV and I prefer him over Michael almost a thousand times over.

 14.
It's for BG cues, so I doubt it's a full news theme... :/
Aww shucks I overlooked that one important aspect and see what you mean in the listings... Edit: On a whole different topic @Raymie see if you can dig anything up, when you have time, regarding "Rey Sanchez" he was listed as a composer of original music for WTVJ's Post-Hurricane Andrew special. He's still in Miami. It would be awesome to uncover if he had anything to do with their "Watch Our Teamwork" theme or the mysterious 2012 package.

 17. Maybe WWOR can pull a KTLA and bring back one of their heritage logos. All they need to do is acquire the rights to the Mets from WPIX and then we go full circle with the New York Baseball Teams on OTA TV for the first time since 1998.
