And few newscasts these days would lead with an unsexy-but-important story such as the city budget.

Considering the sheer number of lights in their "newsplex", that's a half-hour's worth of savings on their electrical bill.

Folks - The WJZ and Ohio clips were posted without me finishing up prepping them. I want to share with everyone, but need to get everything finished and cleaned up before posting. As soon as they're done on my end, I'll release them. This is the second time someone has been posting from my site before I got things finished up. I'm posting these out of the goodness of my heart - please allow me the courtesy of getting things prepped and squared away. I promise that I will post them as soon as they're ready. I've been spending many hours of my time getting these newscasts digitized, converted and uploaded. I'm sharing them with y'all, since they do absolutely nothing collecting dust in my basement. I'm posting as I find the tapes. If I have something, especially 1990s or earlier that I recorded, I'm posting as soon as it's done processing. I nearly wet myself (just a joke) when I found the tape with KYW and WJZ (it also has WHYY, WMAR, WBAL and a good chunk of WBFF - so far - there's some DC on it also...). Canal 13's promo of the "new" Telenoche, but not in 2015: it was 1992 when that happened for the first time. Back then, they said "we've the world's more modern cameras". That was a little bit exagerated. They really had the best team (anchors, reporters, producers, technicians, etc...), they were #1 at 8PM, and the quality of pictures made you feel you were in the 90s, but in countries like the UK, Australia and NZ, the picture was more clearer.

I want to say that the way they handled the weather remote was interesting. I kind of like it. One thing I rarely ponder about is the need for the meteorologist to stand in front of the graphics. It would be one thing if they could stand in one place but they have to move around as they cover part of the maps.
