1. More clips from the 1994 July/August Indiana/Illinois trip, plus a few leftovers from the Atlanta/Charlotte trip (earlier posts). Few Comments; - I totally disagree with WHBQ's slogan - KFVS had the same graphics back in 1987 - I'm still a big fan of the Everyday News Package Jim

 3. I have some SLC which I'm posting soon (probably tomorrow) and have posted all Omaha that I believe I have. (But then again, one never knows what one will find on an unlabeled tape - and I have lots of them!) Jim

 4. A very interesting report from Jana Wendt (then with 60 Minutes) describing the anger of Melbourne viewers when HSV7 was bought by Fairfax in 1987 and Mal Walden was sacked. He later joined ATV10 and retired from that station in 2013.

 5. So WFOR morning Anchor Eugene Ramirez was in New York and visited the CBS This Morning set and did the daily cross talk with his station. Gayle apparently said to him, per an Instagram story, “Eugene I always thought you were black!”

 6. Some deal closings tonight. Here's KJRW's closing paper. The deal was closed last Friday. Lets see how long they'll air the CBS programming since Brady is simulcasting it on an LP. Also, Weigel has completed its sale of Utah station KCSG. Making it the first station they own outside the areas adjacent to Lake Michigan. Interestingly enough Weigel sold WMLW's spectrum for $69.6M. They've already used half of those proceeds in buying TV stations in a few markets. Will they spend the remaining amount to buy more stations in the future? Finally, WRNN is buying another station. They're getting Cherry Hill, NJ's WMCN from Lenfest Broadcasting for $6M.

 7. I didn't care for the evening montage/collage at the end ... made me feel dizzy. Too much. Too quick. Other than that, not bad at all. Glad they kept the theme music. -- Matt

 8. It looks and feels like a less flashier Fox Report.

 9. Jim, I also have a request: Do you have any more newscasts or news open montages from D/FW, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and/or other small market newscasts or news open montages from Beaumont, Lubbock, Waco, Tyler, Amarillo, Abilene, Midland-Odessa, and El Paso? As a native Texan, I would love to see more.

 10. Somewhere I have the WTVK newscast that's been around the trading circuit, and just pulled some 2004 newscasts off of DVD, but that's about it from Knoxville. Now that I'm back home from Thanksgiving, back to getting stuff off of tape and DVD...

 11. That WHBQ open I’ve never seen before. I wonder if that is a new news theme they’re using or if it’s production music? Also, I’d like to know if you have any Omaha or Salt Lake City anywhere. That would be cool if you do (especially KTVX).

 12. Wow, that KODE open is really, really underwhelming. It's barely an open! (But sheesh, Joplin material!) Also, who wore it better, WHBQ or KCRA? P.S. "The Look of a Leader" has never been trademarked. I guess someone was jealous of "Where the News Comes First"...

 14. It would be a very bold move. The timing could actually be perfect for an all female anchor team on CBSTM... There is NO reason why it cannot be tried out starting in 3...2....1.
