1. Throw Mike Janssen into the mix. He fills in for Jim most often.

 3. Wow. I had no idea that existed. Would that be claimed to be the smallest FOX station to have its own news department?

 4. That promo is from sometime in 2004 as it was after when Bob Kovachick shaved his mustache and the weather center had already been redone yet were still using their 1997 weather graphics. Here is another promo from the same time period for the same doppler. In fact, going through this person's Vimeo account there seems to be a LOT of late 90s-mid 2000s WNYT promos. A pre-1998 station promo A 1996 Olympics promo, complete with clips of Chris Kapostasy (Jansing)'s Torch Relay run "No one has more experience than Ed Dague", someone in 2000-01 More later!

 5. Ya like old WFMZ? 'Cuz here's some old WFMZ — more accurately, a full documentary on the occasion of its 40th anniversary! There's a treat right at the start, too (a snippet of a late 70s/early 80s open; there's another snippet later), and the station history is fascinating! You'll learn things like: -The transmitter used to start the station was found in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where WHFV (also on channel 69) had failed the year before WFMZ signed on the air -The original newsgathering vehicles were AMC Pacers -Tons of other stuff! There's also a sampling of clips from the station's other local programming ventures. After the first half hour, it gets a little deep.

 6. I am having a hard time remembering that tonight is Jim's final night. I'm tempted to set a reminder on my phone to remember to watch.

 7. Wow, gotta love the presence of a young Paul Caiano here. I also remember Bob Kovachick when his hair was gray and not white.

 10. Two more from the 20 years ago (+1 day, sorry) file: WTTV Bloomington/Indianapolis: December 15, 1997 10pm Interesting that this is treated as a "Paid Program" (fine print at the start of the newscast...) 11. Albany has a habit of keeping old themes alive after a theme change. WTEN did just this as I remember some promo cuts of Primetime News sticking around after Momentum News came in. WRGB was a big offender of this, using some cuts from the mid 80s Freedom package for promos and random stings as late as 1993 and some v.1 Enforcer cuts stuck around for the whole time then-News in Focus was in use. This doesn't even get into WNYT using cuts from Image IX and The Tower just for promos here and there.

 12. As per WLBZ's Wikipedia Page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WLBZ "Although identifying as a separate station in its own right, WLBZ is considered a semi-satellite of sister station WCSH (channel 6) in Portland. WLBZ's master control, as well as some internal operations, are housed at WCSH's studios. It simulcasts most of WCSH's newscasts, and clears most of its syndicated programming (though in some cases at different times). There are also some programs that only air on WLBZ while some are only seen on WCSH. WLBZ also airs separate station identifications and commercials. Although WLBZ and WCSH are based in different locations and technically serve separate markets, the two essentially operate as one station. With their combined resources, the stations provide statewide coverage not offered by any other outlet in Maine. WLBZ serves as the default NBC affiliate for the Presque Isle market, which does not have an affiliate of its own." The "NewsCenter Maine" branding is years overdue. "NBC Maine" would also be acceptable.

 15. Ah, before an after the Adelaide affiliation switch! In 1987, ADS7 and SAS10 simultaneously changed both their network affiliations and their broadcast channel numbers to become ADS10 and SAS7. The simultaneous switch meant that, for the viewers, Seven Network programming stayed on Channel 7 in Adelaide, and Ten programming stayed on Channel 10, but the local newscasts and any other local programming switched channels. (There was -- and still is -- no syndicated programming in Australia, which made things quite a bit simpler.) This is how the two stations covered the switch:
