  2. The best Fox affiliate music has always been the X and X2. It's too bad more stations didn't pick up the X2.

  3. That's too bad about the Elko station, but Lori is one of the best out there in my humble opinion. Whatever she does next, she will excel. About 6 or 7 years ago, a firm I was working with was developing a news department at one of the radio stations in town and she helped us build our network of contacts in the area. She helped share leads and resources when possible. She didn't treat us as a competitor and thought it was more important that additional voices were available to get the word out about stories in the community. I've never forgotten that and appreciate what she did for us to this day.

  5. Same. The X2 package brilliantly used the best part of the 20th Century Fox fanfare. Though there are certain non-Fox specific themes that worked great on Fox affiliates. Stephen Arnold's News Edge, for one.

  7. The OSI theme had much better staying power than the sorry Gannett Rampage theme, which was outdated as soon as it was implemented.

  10. That guy has been posting some great OKC stuff for a while. I'm a bit envious! I've hit a number of thrift stores both in the OKC Metro and in southern Oklahoma for tapes over the course of the years and I've come up short. The stuff I've picked up is mostly cable or DFW which is fairly easy to come by in comparison.

  12. Is it just me or does Ed Hopkins sound noticeably off in the WNYT opens? Also those opens look nothing compared to what followed when Channel 13 debuted “Prime News”.

  13. Finally, WLWT’s “News Channel 5” intro! That era I believe lasted a year and a half, as by May 1992 they switched back to “News 5”. Also had no idea WTVC held on to the WRGB 1986 Theme that long, and plus WTVG’s open is a treat as well.
